It's fantastic to see the Ukrainian Federation put on such a big show. Hopefully it can help to raise the profile of figure skating in Ukraine.

I also think that it's a good decision to make this competition decide who represents Ukraine at Euros and Olympic, given the international judging panel.

This is going to be the first international competition for Min/Koleto, who will be looking for the minimum points for Four Continents.

On a totally different note, the amount of spelling errors in the names on the entry list is :slink:.

I imagine they were done with some kind of transliteration tool? The mistakes are really pretty amazing,

Rid for Reed is particularly

Avidan Brown skating for Ukraine? I thought he skated for GBR. And before that for Israel... while being born in the USA...

It's not easy to find partners at your own level.

IIRC, you need at least 4 skaters/team, representing 3 different countries in order for the event to be eligible for the ISU ranking points. I hope that nobody is going to withdraw from the Men or Pairs events.

Just now - Ice Dance SD.

Before were Pairs SP and Ladies SP.

Ladies:
Clara Peters is nice girl with nice skating. Not so good jumps, unfortunately.
Maria Stavitskaia is really nice. Good skating if remember her injury, she started practice about one and half month.

After SP
1. Svetlana Lebedeva (1999) RUS
2. Maria Stavitskaia (1997) RUS
3. Natalia Popova UKR

There are two Ladies from Russia (others WD), 1 and 2 places after SP.

Only Ukrainian men left in the Men event, therefore it won't count for ISU ranking points. Pairs is cool though as there are 4 teams from 3 different countries competing.

Min/Koleto needed TES 18 for the 4CC SD minimum and they made it. With 23.25, they fell short of the very steep TES 28 required for Worlds, though.

It is also Ukrainian national championship. Yes, no ranking points, but Nationals.
This competition is too close in time to Nationals of european countries, Men have not time to be in Kiev now.

Clara Peters has 19.57 TES in SP. Only 0,43 less than needed for Euro technical minimum. So close. I want her to earn technical minimum and be at Euro.

Yes, that was a real shame. :(

She might not have triples but she's a great performer and a joy to watch.

She earned TES 40.20, so has FS technical minimum score for Euro.

IIRC, Peters had the FS TES already and just needs the SP one.

I feel a bit sorry for Usmantseva/Talan. They bombed in the FS but they attempted much more difficult content than Lavrentieva/Rudyk in both programs. And they did win the olympic spot in the first place.

There's only two competitions left between now and Europeans. It looks like she is not entering one of them. Curious if she's going to try for the Nesquick Cup, which I believe is the week before Europeans.
