1.) Julia Lipnitskaia
2.) Elena Radionova
3.) Anna Pogorilaya
4.) Adelina Sotnikova
5.) Elizaveta Tuktamysheva

6.) Serafima Sakhanovich

Men:
1.) Maxim Kovtun
2.) Evgeny Plushenko
3.) Sergei Voronov
4.) Konstantin Menshov
5.) Artur Dmitriev Jr.

6.) Adian Pitkeev

(Evgeny Plushenko misses his SP, sees no chance of winning and then makes a press release saying "ouch!" and retires AGAIN)

Pairs:
1.) Stolbova / Klimov
2.) Antipova / Maisuradze
3.) Bazarova / Larionov (yeah, yeah, the russian federation will inflate their scores like crazy, but there's only so much they can do)
4.) Davankova / Deputat
5.) Fedorova / Miroshkin

6.) Gerboldt / Enbert

Dance:
1.) Ilinykh / Katsalapov (yes, this proves that I have nothing to lose! )
2.) Bobrova / Soloviev (2 mistakes in the SD and 1 in the FD would help!) *
3.) Sinitsina / Zhiganshin (Olympic experience for a promising pair of the future, rather than Ria/Tka who've been written off anyway)
4.) Riazanova / Tkachenko
5.) Monko / Khaliavin

6.) Stepanova / Bukin

* if you think about it: Bobrova/Soloviev already have such a negative reputation for this year (bad, bad free dance; everybody expects "russian federation is only pushing their scores anyway",...) that giving the win to Ilynikh/Katsalapov would make for a big "wow!" in the figure skating community, and would give THEM a boost during the Olympics. I know, I'm delusional, but I'd really like that.
Speaking of bad, bad free dance: Ilynikh/Katsalapov do NOT have one of those! Their Swan Lake is a beauty! ;)
It allowed them to beat Pechalat/Bourzat. In France!

I agree that Martiusheva/Rogonov are very inconsistent, but I do understand why some posters puts them so high. I love watching them too. (although I don't think they will manage to place as high as 4-5).

But the list of the pairs you believe will score higher than M/R, I really can't see why would you list there Gerboldt/Enbert! Not only M/R did manage to beat them in one competition this autumn, but G/E have not exactly been very good this season, and unlike M/R, G/E don't even deserve higher TES because apart of elements their program is quite empty and they look quite sloppy. So why would you think they will surpass M/R?

In regards to Davankova/Deputat splitting, I think you have forecasted it for a while and it hasn't happened yet. In fact, they did achieve second highest total score from Russian junior pairs in their JGP event, easily beating Tarasova/Morozov and Fedorova/Miroshkin. If you want to rely on your forecasting skills, maybe don't quit your day job! ;)

likeable to watch , thats it, the only reason ? even at the GP they got hammered by the judges in PCS clearly they don't agree
Martiusheva/Rogonov are legends of headcases, 5th or 6th place prediction list for them are laughable more like 7th or 8th

Davankova is only turning 16 but is tall for a pairs skater now, if she even grows another cm then they're done
also the golden rule for Pairs: Similar heights have no future same for Ice Dancing

Just a quick heads up to something that sky_fly20 posted in the entries thread:

Martiusheva/Rogonov out as she has apparently suffered a knee injury, very bad luck for her

https://twitter.com/Tatjana21

Well, that's my predictions going to have to be changed (again!) before I post them!

Does that mean Kawaguchi/Smirnov are in...? ;)

Unfortunately, there is still no sign of a Results Page, and hence a SP Starting order.

So, since we are going to have to get our new predictions worked out soon, I have gone on ahead and put the ISU Bio links up anyway.

There were a few changes in partnerships in the Nationals entry list compared to the ISU Bio list, so here are the Bios I have used.

Pairs:
Kristina ASTAKHOVA (with Nikita BOCHKOV)
Maxim KURDYUKOV (with Ekaterina PETAIKINA)
Yuri SHEVCHUK (with Alexandra VASILIEVA)

Hope this helps

just to remind everyone predicting:

Martiusheva/Rogonov have withdrawn because of Martiusheva's hip injury
they will be replaced by alternates: Gubanova/Sintsov

Picking my Top 6 in each category was not too bad. The only problem was that two of the entries I would have picked as Top 6 are down as Alternates! :disapp:

In fact, had they not been Alternates, I would have put Polina K as my number 6 choice in Ladies, and Kawaguchi/Smirnov as my number 3 choice in Pairs!

I haven’t heard of any of the Ladies withdrawing so far, and even if they did today, it would probably be too late to let Polina K in. And I assume Yuko hasn’t got over her injury yet, as the other Alternate Pairs couple (Gubanova/Sintsov) were brought in when Martyusheva/Rogonov (who had been my number 3 choice) withdrew.

But picking the “just for fun” extras that I like to do was a lot harder than I was expecting. In the Ladies, there were too many skaters that I like! And too many Juniors that I haven’t seen before, but who have big PB’s!

And as for the other categories, there were too many that I had never heard tell of before!

I don't like doing it like this, but in the end, for the skaters I had never seen before (or never heard tell of), the "just for fun" predictions were largely based on PB's!

Thank goodness it’s just the top 5 that score! ;)

THIS IS YOUR TWO HOUR WARNING.

You have just 2 hours left to get your predictions in, i.e. until 13:00 MSK (09:00 GMT)

Ladies
1.Julia Lipniskia
2.Elena Radionova
3.Adelina Sotnikova
4.Elizaveta Tuktamysheva
5.Anna Pogorilaya

ahy - I realise that you have only joined the game, so you are behind already. But, everybody is going to be making wild guesses come Chinese Nationals, so it could all close up going into the 2 North American Championships!

So don't put yourself at a disadvantage by only posting predictions for one category now. At least have a stab at the others.

You never know - you might get just them right! ;)

I am afraid that time is now up to get your predictions in.

Sorry for the late posting - I didn't want to interrupt Papa Oda's FS! (I'm trying to get caught up with Japanese Championships before Russians start!)

Wow, I did better than I thought. I thought not including S/Z in my predictions would be more costly than it actually was.

All in all not a bad competition for me! 60+ on three out of four disciplines. Ladies...however..........:slink:

No reason to run away ;)

The winner of the ladies event was sky_fly20 with 55 points, congrats! The closest followers are Mrs.P and hanca who scored 45 points.

Overall, we have a pretty clear top 3 with Mrs.P being 1st (with 230 points), followed by hanca with 225 and sky_fly20 with 220 points. YesWay was the only other poster to break 200 points, coming 4th with a 205. Congratulations everyone!
