Chris, because I know that you are based in the U.S.:

Perhaps you will have access to NBCOlympics.com live streaming. (But maybe not, if you rely on rabbit ears -- as I myself do. :eek:

All you have to do is add the time difference between Norway and US Eastern standard time...google "Time in New York City," then see what your watch says, and you have the time difference.

Ugh. I hope they cover it in prime time. This is certainly no way to get good ratings for figure skating.

If you are referring to NBC primetime coverage for the U.S., no worries. Of course it will include figure skating.
Moreover, NBC expects the NBCSN coverage to increase primetime ratings -- based on London 2012 data for online streaming and primetime viewing.

Quote from the executive producer of NBC Olympics (on Jan 23), from the U.S. commentators thread:

Regarding the combination of NBCSN and primetime viewing (pertaining to figure skating, as it happens), Bell said:

... the billion dollar lab from London definitely informed the macro decision to put all the figure skating live on cable. I mean that was a big decision, thinking that not only would it not cannibalize our audience, but to the contrary, we hope it will help build interest.
We hope that…not that we want to hurt the productivity of the workplace here, but we hope that people are gathered around watching the figs (figure skating) and talking about it and then going home and gathering around the tube with their family to watch it in primetime.

The GS thread at the link above has a link to a full NBC media call transcript with additional discussion of increased primetime ratings for London 2012 because of (not in spite of) online viewing earlier in the day.

As long as it's on in prime time so I and others who work have a chance to see it. I never found recording the Olympics to be very helpful, because they are on every night so I either can't watch the recording or can't watch the rest of the Olympics.

Its a real PITA. They show some skating, then ski jumping or whatever, then go back to skating. In this way, you either have to suffer through whatever sports you don't like and watch commercials, or record the whole mess and fast forward through all the commericals and curling.....
