"Fallo" doesn't mean fall, but "mistake" or even just "slip". So it could have been a small step out, a hand down, an overturn, but I don't think he fell.

Ziggy, I'm striking out on this, but I did find the Spanish Federation's facebook

https://www.facebook.com/fedhielo?ref=stream&hc_location=stream

And It looks like Sonia Lafuente & Javier Fernandez and Hurtado & Dias are the Spanish champions again this year.

And here's the article on the federation website
http://www.fedhielo.com/index.php/n...peones-de-espana-de-patinaje-sobre-hielo-2013

The scores are given, but I don't see any protocol like website. The championship is not yet on the Resultados page list-April is the most recent competition listed.

Men FP
1. Javier Fernandez 187.66 (total 285.57) 4T overturn, 4S2T, 1A, 4S, 3Lz2T, 3Lo overturn, 3F1Lo2S, 3S. Seems like Javier said that some of his problems during the Grand Prix were because of new skates. Since Orser is in Japan right now I guess they are not worried about his form.
2. Javier Raya 144.65 (total 223.28) 3A, 3T3T, 2Lz, 3F2T, 2A2T2T, 3F overturn, 3S, 2A
3. Felipe Montoya 93.33 (total 156.34)

Ladies FP
1. Sonia Lafuente 90.25 (140.17) 2F, 2Lz, XLo, XT fall, 2Lo, 3T2T, 2A
2. Marta Garcia 77.26 (total 119.21) XLo, XLo, 2A, 2A, 3S twofooted, 2F2T overturn

Ice Dance FD
1. Hurtado/Diaz 91.19 (150.88)
2. Robledo/Fenero 62.72 (total 103.44)

Pairs FP
1. Grigoreva/Maestu 68.98 (total 112.74) 3S fall, 2STh, 2FTh, 2Tw, 2Lo2T

Looks like Spanish Nationals are among those with the super-inflated scores; it'll be a while before the lovely H/D see such marks in international events, and even with the quads, Javi will never see these sort of scores for the content he reportedly did. But, hey, it's Nationals ;) congratulations to the champions!

Is Lafuente injured? She's been in poor form all season.

Actually this is the first time I see such high scores at Spanish Nats. Over the last few yeas Javi's lowest scores are all from the Nationals, didn't even hit 80 last season in the sp.

I don't know if Lafuente is injured, but I'm sure she's having hard time finding motivations after the Nebelhorn disaster :( I really hope Europeans and Worlds will be sweeter for her!

Sonia was injured right before Nebelhorn so when she went there she had only been on the ice for a few days. She's now training in Toronto with Brian Orser and apparently she was training well, so I don't really know what's happening to her, she has had 2 bad competitions in a row (the Universiade and Nats).

Grigorieva/Maestu and Marta Garcia don't have the Minimum TES for Euros. They'll have a last chance in Torun, Poland, right before Euros.

Thank you for all the information, sigrid. :)

It will be interesting to see how Lafuente's skating is going to progress after having moved to Canada. If she's well trained physically maybe she's finding it hard to pull it together mentally at this point? I hope she can get the fire that she showed at Euros last season back soon.

Robledo/Fenero look very decent for a team new to Ice Dance. It will be interesting to watch how they develop of the next seasons.

Best of luck to Grigorieva/Maestu and Garcia in Toruń!

Looking at all of the results now.

Three skaters with 2axel in Novice Ladies, that's more than what you see at many ISU Nationals. A number of Novice Men had/attempted 2axels and triple jumps as well. This bodes very well for the future. It's impressive how fast skating is developing in Spain!

A difficult situation in Junior Ladies. Maria Garcia who won was clean in both programs but didn't attempt any triples. Mangas made mistakes but landed 3salchow in both programs and attempted two more triples in the FS.

Marta Garcia's SP TES would be enough for Euros minimum and her FS TES was just under. Same for Grigorieva/Maestu. I hope they can skate a little better in Toruń and meet both.

Decent performances from Fernandez. If he can skate like that at Euros, he should medal. about the scores though. ;)

A clean SP from Raya and a strong FS as well! That's the best he's skated in a while. I hope he can repeat that at Euros.

Sorry for post spam. ;)

I was just looking through the MKS Axel Toruń website, gathering info about 2014 MNNTC and checking out the news and noticed that Grigorieva/Maestu have now moved from Jaca to Toruń to train with the Siudeks. They've taken part in a charity show on 30 November and Maestu took part in a charity curling tournament last week. That club is just awesome, always so much stuff going on. :)
