Right, this was done in a hurry, so there is nothing scientific about the order this time. All I have really done is copy my predictions for the Olympics, and added a few names to replace the ones that aren’t doing Worlds.

Although I have made a few minor changes based on what happened in Sochi, there are not too many. And they are mainly in the “Just For Fun” sections.

So, in other words, I’m going to make the same mistakes as I did with the Olympics!

Sorry, meant to do this half an hour ago, but forgot.

THIS IS YOUR 3 1/2 HOUR WARNING!

You have 3 hours and 30 minutes until the target time for getting your predictions in for the Pairs category, i.e. 09:00 JST (00:00 GMT)

However, if you still want to enter we will still be accepting predictions for each discipline up until the start of their Short Programme.

In the case of the Pairs, that will be 10:00 JST (01:00 GMT)

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE PAIRS COMPETITION IS STARTING AN HOUR EARLIER THAN ORIGINALLY ADVERTISED

I think Julia and Gracie have the mental advantage here. They are at the beginning of their senior careers. They might be physically exhausted after a long Olympic season but mentally, they are fresher and they have the next Olympic cycle to look forward too so that ought to give them a mental boost.
I think it would be hard to find motivation if you are Mao, Kostner and Suzuki. Mao and Suzuki will want to use world to make up for their slips at Olympics but that could be a good or bad motivator depending on where your head is. Caro just need to muster her newfound skating-for-joy one last time and she'll be awesome. But can she keep up the high after a such a good Olympics?

I hope Gold makes her mark. Dear lord, can we have a USA lady on the podium finally?

Erm, I forgot to remind the scorers that we are using double points for the World Championships. :slink:

But, don't worry FSGMT. I have just doubled the points that you put into the Spreadsheet.

Consequently, the adjusted Ice Dance Top 10 is:

1) 96skiluvr 370 points
2) Bea, FSGMT 360 points
4) YesWay 355 points
5) Poice, Frenchie 350 points
7) Isabel_O'Reilly, SubRosa 325 points
9) tulosai 270 points
10) pangtongfan 260 points

Sorry for my mistake

Um... all the Ice Dance points now appear to be 4x instead of 2x? ie. they've been doubled twice?

Also, Alebi... one of our top scorers... has been given no points at all!

Ah, maybe I was mistaken and the points had been doubled already. They just looked a bit lower than I expected, so I assumed that it was scored normally.

Right, I've restored it to the way FSGMT had left it.

But, Alebi still has no score, so maybe she hasn't got that far yet with the scoring...

Sorry about that

Hang on now the dance scores are at the normal scoring, as opposed to the 2x scoring...
As of right now, they appear correct on my screen.

I have 70 points. 35 x 2... which is correct.
You have 70 points. 35 x 2... which is correct.

A few others I checked, also seem correct.
Are you seeing different numbers?

The men!

Special props to 96skiluvr--who predicted the results PERFECTLY and earned the maximum 150 points! Given how unpredictable the men have been all season this is quite a feat. Other top scorers include FSGMT with 120 points and Poice, tulosai and HanDomi with 110 points.

So the final top 10for the men are:

GOLD: 96skiluvr, 320
SILVER: Poice, 285
BRONZE: Subrosa, 280
4th: FSGMT, 265
5th: Isabel_O'Reilly, YesWay, CaroLiza_fan and Bea with 255 points
9th: alebi, 234
10th: Frenchie, 235

ouch, so no top 10 for me in Ice dance? :bang:

I looked at the docs and my name appears two times... I know I have multiple personalities but I forced all except the main one to sit and not confuse the game

ok... I don't wanna seem pedantic, so sorry if it'll annoy someone, but since my scores got a mistake I recount from the beginning every scores I did and found some errors:

1) in the olympics men competition I did 100 points not 90. I guessed Yuzu and Patrick, I put Javy 3rd instead of 4th and (here is my doubt) I put Plushenko 4th and Takahashi 6th... Since Plushy retired and according to what happened at Euros with Savchenko / Szolkowy, it was like I put Takahashi 5th. He arrived 6th so I should get 20 points from him, not 10.

S/S will be removed from all Pairs predictions, and all predictions below them will be moved up by one. (So your 6th/alternate will now be your 5th, etc.)

2) so my men total in the Olympics is 100, my total in the Olympics is 455, my men overall total is 255 (not to mention that 234 is an impossible score to get since are all multiples of 5 :) )

3) following the same logic in the Worlds dance B/S retired so it was like I put: I/K, P/B, C/L, W/P, C/B.. which brings 70 points

4) my dance overall score then should be 325 points

And since I'm too kind (or pedantic) my total for ladies worlds is 110, my total for pairs worlds is 120, my worlds overall is 390. My ladies overall is 295, my pairs overall is 320 and my final and total score is 1250

I hope this can help recounting my scores :)
