It could be a disadvantage for everyone not named Yuna. There's something to be said for having a "fresh" program and performing in the moment.

Remember last year at the WCs, the EuroSport guys said after Yuna's Les Mis: "we just want to see her skate it again".

But if she had actually gone out there and skated the program again ... do you think it would have had the same effect? I say no.

ITA. This moment is gone. But Yuna will repeat it at olys. She looks so calm and confident these days every time the korean media is around. I think it is trust in herself. She will go out and perform adios with the same confidence and perfection as she did with les mis last year...
so my prediction is:

Ladies
1.Yuna Kim
2. Julia Lipnitskaya
3. Mao Asada
4. Kanako Murakami
5. Karolina Kostner
6. Ashley Wagner

Men
1. Patrick Chan
2. Javier Fernandez
3. Yuzuru Hanyu
4. Plushy
5. Denis Ten
6. Daisuke Takahashi

For men I can only predict gold which is Chan even he skate with some mistakes, he is in really good shape. As I think Hanyu may not skate to his potential as he might be too pressure by his own expectation (I think I just watch a news report that he think about Sochi all the time - -"), also he is not as commit to performance in FS as in 2012 yet.

May be Daisuke will have super skate of his life and surprise us all .

Do we win a prize if we're correct? ;)

Here are mine, not doing ice dance since D/W are a lock for gold, and I'm not hugely into pairs.

Men: Hanyu, Chan, Fernandez

Ladies: Kim, Asada, Lipnitskaia

Team: Russia, Japan, USA

Ladies' OGM did not win at Nationals of the Olympic season since 1998. Tara:2nd, Sarah:3rd, Shizuka:3rd, Yuna:didn't participate.
Mao did not win the Japanese Nationals this season. This is just a recent trend, though:p
These three have strong technical base value and good pcs.

He is Canadian, so he must follow Browning's and Orser's footsteps and mentally fall apart. Otherwise I will question his Canadian-ship. :)

Orser did not fall apart at the Olympic but came in a very close and thrilling second. He was just following his own tradition of coming in second, except once when he won the World Championship, like Brezina following his own tradition of constantly coming in 4th. Browning was really the jinxed one, likely from carrying the flag at the opening ceremony as Canadian flag bearers have always become huge disappointments. Chan should not and will not carry the flag at the Olympic opening. I hope he will get voted to carry it at the closing.
