Haruka Imai

Haruka Imai (Japanese: 今井 遥 ), born August 31, 1993, is a Japanese figure skater. She has won eight senior international medals, including two gold medals at Nepela Trophy competitions. Imai has competed at three Four Continents Championships, placing as high as fourth. She is the 2008 Japanese Junior national champion.

Was Haruka always this good at using her arms? Actually, she might be moving them a little too much in her nationals free skate, but it's not too distracting

I think she was always a graceful and elegant skater.

I'd kind of assumed she had reached her limits some time ago... but this year, she has dramatically improved her skating skills, speed, jumps... and she has more confidence. I don't know what happened, but it's great to see!

Haruka is keeping her Malaguena SP for next season and bringing back her Piano Concerto FS from 2013-2014.

The article also says she will start performing a 3F-3T in the SP and add two 3F and a 3Lz in the FS. She has already tried these layouts at a local Niigata competition (did a 3F-2T in the SP, 3F-2T-2Lo, 3F and 3Lz in the FS) but as the protocols show (lots of < and -GOEs) she's still working on mastering these jumps.

Now I find Haruka is going to Autumn Classic Canada. This is the first competition for her this season?

Here is Haruka's SP, she skated pretty well apart from UR at 3S3T, hope she will skate even better tomorrow!

Her 3F looked really good and she got a good score! Good luck in the FS!
