Surprisingly Michael Christian MARTINEZ competed here instead of 4 Continents. He was the only senior.

Juulia TURKKILA win the ladies event. In junior, a new finish girl win the competition : Viveca LINDFORS. I don't know her age, but she has a strong technic (2 triple lutz and one triple loop in the free program) and obtain the TES score for senior worlds. It's funny because she has the same name than a swedish actress.
South-african Michaela DU TOIT and new filipino Frances Clare UNTALAN complete the podium. Du toit validates her ticket to Junior worlds in the same occasion.

Viveca is from Finland and was born in 1999 so she's now 14. This is her first season competing at junior level and she won bronze at Nationals in December. She trains together with Juulia Turkkila, coached by Tarja Sipilä. Viveca has great, strong jumps and masters all triples, but still needs to improve a lot what comes to her basic skating skills. We'll most likely see her representing Finland at Nordic Championships alongside our talented trio Jenni Saarinen, Liubov Efimenko and Emmi Peltonen (all born in 1999). Jenni is currently leading the Finnish Season Best ranking with her PB 154,08.

Maybe he didn't want to risk losing to Caluza in order to curb the Filipino DRAMA?

In Junior Ladies, a very impressive outing from Viveca Lindfors indeed. She scored higher than Turkkila and has a better technical repertoire. Untalan's skating is elegant and she has quite good basics. Du Toit landed 2axels and 3toes in both programs. She's definitely the best South African lady at the moment and I hope she will become not only Junior but also Senior National Champion next season.

In Novices, there was Ribes Arthur from France with three triples and Aleksandra Feigin from Bulgaria with three rotated (but not landed) triples.
