Nessie- you're absolutely right! the little things in life. that's what matters. All the rest is just irrelevant. :)

I made a collection of all of V/T instagram videos. Some of them are pretty old now, but still- cute and funny as always.

I assume some of them have already been posted here, but still.
all of the vids are just

Aha! What a feast! I'm going to savour these links the way my little sister used to savour her ice cream. She always took forever to eat her dessert while the rest of us were ready to scream with envy!

I love Max’s because after the water is thrown at him (I didn’t see any ice cubes), he just nods his head, like, “Big deal. Is that all there is?“

http://instagram.com/p/sMmAuZOVYQ/?modal=true

As for Max getting treatment on his shoulder (above picture), I’m surprised that it is Max’s left shoulder that is hurt. I thought it would be the right shoulder. But I guess he LIFTS Tanya with his left arm, which is the hard part, and HOLDS Tanya with the right, so holding is much less damaging than lifting….

Interesting. I never though of it like that. I guess the amount of pressure on the shoulder/arm is higher when you lift because you're basically trying to resist gravity. ().
Seriously, I'll never understand how male pair skaters can lift, hold and support grown women every day, let alone on the ice. The only sport which I know is kinda similar to that is Acrobatic Gymnastics- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k_MTtDfEQ6I but in this case we're talking about 21-22 year old male gymnasts who balance 12 year old girls ON THE FLOOR.

I feel like figure skating doesn't get enough credit.

P.S I LOVE this photo and quote by Maxim. http://instagram.com/p/ntGtirE7be/?modal=true <3

New V/T montage. :) I really don't understand the russian song, but the scenes are nice. The uploader used some really beautiful, recent moments. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vWUp3q7enR0

- LP practice from Skate Canada 2011 (with canadian commentary :) )- notice how Max saves Tanya from crashing into another skater at 3:08. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gBMkcOYcQ3E

- For anyone who wants a better quality video of their LP by BBC (Without k&c) : http://zarariel.tumblr.com/post/76543341850/tatiana-volosozhar-and-maxim-trankov-pairs-free :)

- Backstage interview with Tanya & Max after SP- Skate America 2013 (interviewed by Tanith Belbin): http://web.icenetwork.com/video/v31164129/?query=volosozhar
on that note- I'd really aprreciate it if someone could take a video of their LP & SP from skate amrica (by icenetwork) and upload it to vimeo or something. All of those videos are blocked in my country ( ) and I'm really interested to hear what American comntators have to say about them. Please?
here are the links-

Vaytsekhovskaya's interview with Mozer `I have less friends after Sochi' for sport-express.ru

Thanks to TAHbKA for the translation on FSU: http://www.fsuniverse.net/forum/ind...-mozer-i-have-less-friends-after-sochi.93043/

An extract (it's a long interview).

Now I can see so many new things that can be done in our sport. That is, of course, if the ISU will not come up with the new rules that will tear the skaters' shoulders.
It's a serious problem. Previously the positions that were used in the lifts were derived from the human body natural poses. Now in order to get the 4th level one has to get to positions which are not only hard, but unnatural, I would even call then inhuman.

EV: And demand completely different muscles, i.e. a different preparation system?
NM: It's not that. We have great coaches in the group, so the skaters' muscles are well developed. The injures are not caused by the lack of strength. When the poses are unnatural any small move can cause an injury.
That what happened to Trankov - Tanya lost her balance during the lift and Maksim had to catch her in a bit unusual position. So now we are dealing with the injury, since we decided to remain in the sport for another Olympic cycle.

EV: Was it worth it? Taking the rules are changing all the time and it becomes harder for the older skaters to adjust?
NM: There are so many examples when the athletes go out and win despite all odds in various sports. It's so interesting just to try. 4 years that Tanya and Maksim have been skating together is not enough to get sick of the sport. The most important is whether they want to keep going. They do. I always supported them and I will for as long as they need me.

WOW !
Mozer sounds completely different than I thought she would.
I always thought she's a gentle, cute, warm, cuddly woman who takes the role of a mom for her skaters. But...
"Some people are not important enough in my life to pay attention to their opinions" hehehe sassy and strong character:biggrin:
Under this motherly aura she must have a mind of steel.
I love the end!
"I don't care about the game. I just want to win."

Well she certainly does ;) !

According to this article, Tanya & Max's skating school in sochi will open on September 20th. For now (Max's quote) it'll only wear their names but maybe in the future, after they retire, they might even train and teach there.

Oh wow, that's great that their skating school is opening so soon! I always figured it was a "far off in the future" plan. The article says they're also going to go there to train on September 12th. I wonder if that means they'll be training there for the rest of the season or just a short time?

Some great pictures here: http://www.olympic.ru/news/photo/olimpiyskiy-urok-v-ssh/1.html?

I really love this one. They're such a good looking pair: http://olympic.ru/upload/photo/4557/fullscreen_pah_2696%20(kopiia).jpg

Recently, I have realized that I have been hypnotized by the exciting lives of Volosozhar and Trankov and spending too little time putting excitement into my own affairs. So I’m going to take a break and re-calibrate my priorities. I will probably watch V&T’s Skate America routine when it comes time, but other than that, I am going to tone it down. I have great respect for the many resourceful and clever contributors to this site and have appreciated reading the many intelligent comments but I need to keep a balance. Do svidanya! (I hope to can stick to this diet of no V and T! It's going to be difficult....)

Best of Luck Nessie!! I've tried to distance myself as well; especially with classes starting up again, but I catch myself checking Instagram pretty often. "Have they updated today?" "Maybe I'll just check out some of their performances on YouTube for a few minutes"...then those minutes turn into an hour or two. I need to apply reverse psychology on myself haha
