On the Russians - so are they having Lipnitskaia skate both SP and LP?

I don't think it's for sure yet if she's doing both programs but I would assume so. I can't wait to see her skate here.

Glad to see Ashley prove to herself that she's able to land her jumps and perform well.

She looked kind of frustrated with her score, unless I misinterpreted.

Who's the older man that was standing in the back left corner with the flag? He seems like he's being kind of a goofball with all the excitement.

I think it would be stupid to not have Lipnitskaia skate the LP, her LP is phenomenal and has gotten better.

That was a beautiful skate from Carolina Kostner. I think it will put her ahead of Mao but I kind of doubt it will put her ahead of Julia? I'm honestly not sure.

That's how I saw it too. But the judges are being harsh/fair on all the skaters outside of Julia so far. Asada is only a point ahead of Wagner and 2 ahead of Osmond. Who'd a thunk?

I'm a little heart-broken for Mao on her fall and under-rotations. I get very frustrated with the reputation/generous scoring the judges have been giving her in the past but it's not her fault. I still love her skating and when she's on she's AMAZING.

I think the scores relative to each other were about on par, except with Julia, who was way overscored. She did not deserve 33.5 PCS, she deserved about the same as Ashley, 31. Carolina skated beautifully and she rightfully deserved her scores, she deserved at least 3 more points PCS than Julia. Mao wasn't scored very high, but she didn't exactly deserve that high of a score; Ashley was also scored quite low. And how did Kexin get the lowest PCS of the night? They weren't that bad.... I would Score:
1. Carolina 36+35=71
2. Julia 37+31=68
3. Mao 32+33.5-1=64.5
4. Ashley 33+31=64
5. Katelyn 34+29=63
6. Kexin 32+25=57
