Ohhh, thx, Toni. :)

Duh, I was vaguely aware of it earlier, but purposely had ignored it as much as possible ... to the point that I forgot about it.

the only reason I even care is because it was EVERYWHERE on my newsfeed when it broke. thankfully with plush bowwing out of the men's competition and the comments from Jeremy after the LP the dance "controversy" has been forgotten by the media.

I find talking about that 'fix' useless. D/W are going to win because at the moment they have better programs. And it comes from someone who really loves V/M.

I love D/W and I would take their FD over V/M's any day. That said, I prefer V/M's short dance by a fair margin, and if they skate it well, I think they'd deserve to win the SD segment of the competition. I think D/W are more likely to win, though; in general this season they have skated cleaner programs and when they have gone head to head with V/M, the results indicate that the judges prefer D/W.

If P/B and W/P skate cleanly and are placed behind B/S and I/K I will be really annoyed, though... Here's hoping for fair and consistent judging!

Also - goo Danni and Greg, may you qualify comfortably for the FD!

There is an article in a magazine called Counterpunch by MG PIETY. It is an American magazine so I dont know how reliable it is.

Thanks, would be funny if they let Debbie Islam on the panel. Who was a judge at the 2010 olympics. Somehow don't think you can judge your son LOL.

She is not/has never judged for ice dancing. She was not selected to judge anything in Sochi. Calm down.

I didn't think she was i just had a thought of how funny it would seem if it was allowed. Don't understand your calm down.

Thanks for the article, iam not sure myself a fix is in but it brings up interesting points such as "Overswiftness and speed and more speed characterize practically everything Davis and White do, and neither appears to have any conception of what constitutes a dance “phrase". " dancers are supposed to vary their speed, but Davis and White do not. They go full-tilt from beginning to end." "These couples are supposed to be “dancing” not racing. Speed is a poor substitute for style and sophistication of expression."

I just looked it up and there is no new information. It's just an article about the original French article. And I can't say I appreciated the primer on how Meryl and Charlie are horrible at absolutely everything and their winning streak is totally inexplicable and a scandal in and of itself. :rolleye:

dancers are supposed to vary their speed, but Davis and White do not. They go full-tilt from beginning to end

That's not even true, though. I could maybe understand this criticism early on in their career, but they've improved so much. I don't see how anyone could watch their tango, waltz, or Schez and say that they don't vary their speed and tempo and rise and fall with their music. It's just such an unfair criticism to me, but whatever, people will see what they want to see.

Thank you maliziq! Would you happen to know if these are the last practice videos or ones from before the team competition?
