Thanks for this info. My cable company moved Univ Sports to one of its high-end tiers and I wasn't about to add any more $$$ on to my already-insane cable rates. After briefly checking out the Dishworld site, the only downside that jumped out for me is that the app won't work w/ the OS on my 5-year-old Macbook. Apparently it will be OK on my iPhone, though, so I'm considering it.

Another good thing is that Dishworld allows you to cancel @ any time -- no contracts or minimum commitment. All in all, sounds like a fine option. Thanks again!

I hope you can see it on the i-phone, I have widescreen tv and the feed doesn't fill my screen.

For those in Canada, in addition to the CBC broadcasts with the top finishers, SportsNet One (SN1) will be airing full-event, live coverage, just like Bold used to do. (SportsNet One is a separate channel from SportNet.)

And presumably there will be some coverage on the French sports network or French CBC for Francophone viewers, as per usual.

But there has been a big change in skating coverage on Canadian t.v. over the past decade, just as there has been in America. Back in the 1990's and early 2000's, we used to get extensive Grand Prix coverage on the regular television networks, as well as extensive coverage of Nationals and 4 Continents. In recent years, CBC tends to show only the long programs during the GP season, and at 4 Continents, etc. In the old days we used to get both the short & long programs throughout the season on CTV. And CTV has reduced its Nationals coverage somewhat, as well. This year they only showed the final flights for most of the events at Canadians. As recently as a few years ago they would sometimes show several flights.

Nevertheless, compared to the way our neighbors to the South are being treated, we are still doing pretty well here in Canada by comparison. At least CBC is scheduled to show same-day coverage of all the events from Worlds this month, including both the shorts & the longs, it appears. I can understand the frustration that NBC viewers down south must feel when they read that NBC seems only willing to show just a few hours of Worlds a couple weeks AFTER the competition is over!

Use the search, it shows similar scheduling on the Thursday, so prospects look good.
They are indeed looking very good! Full schedule is up now, and it looks like all Singles events will be aired in their entirety and live, followed by 90-120 mins recaps of the Pairs and Dance events.
As long as they stick to this schedule, I'm happy.

Thanks for the info! I can never get an answer from Universal when I send them questions about the schedule. It's ridiculous (especially since I pay an extra $10 a month just to watch their gymnastics and skating coverage)

I know I don’t normally do this so far in advance because Eurosport are notorious for changing their schedules umpteen times in the week leading up to them showing something.

However, BRITISH Eurosport 2 will be starting to show highlights of the European Championships tomorrow, so I thought I would do everything in one go. (And anyway, the TV coverage thread has already got to 4 pages long before I made out this schedule list...! :slink:)

Unfortunately for viewers of the continental versions of Eurosport, it is ONLY British 2 that is showing these highlights from Budapest.

As for the World Championships, it will only be the evening sessions that will be shown LIVE on Eurosport. However, there will be extensive highlights of the earlier sessions each day.

For a change, British Eurosport is largely the same coverage as the continental versions. The only major difference is that they are showing a lot more repeats than their continental counterparts.

You may notice a lot of programmes marked “XXXX” on the Saturday and Sunday on British Eurosport. This is simply because the British Eurosport website doesn’t have descriptions for any of the programmes for those days yet. I have just copied over the descriptions from the other Eurosport schedules for those programmes that are also being shown on the continent at the same time.

The only other differences are that Eurosport France are showing an extra repeat of the Free Dance on Sunday morning before the LIVE Gala coverage, while Eurosport Deutschland are NOT showing the Free Dance at all.

All in all, I think the coverage we are getting is better than we might have been expecting!

As usual, thanks for going to the trouble CaroLiza_fan

I'd say they are also notorious for changing the schedules minutes or seconds before a program is due to start, or even while it is already showing ie. basically, making it up as they go along :p

However, this time I am highly optimistic - because it looks like the only danger for (British) coverage from overunning live events... is from Cycling, which I consider "low risk", and in any case it would only affect the afternoon repeats. Just hope we get Simon Reed in the British Eurosport commentary box.

I am already getting excited, I think this could be a MIGHTY competition in spite of a few Big Names absent... and I'm going to have a tough time choosing placements for the predictions game.

And being in Japan, we might get some half decent camera direction... and audiences who are generous to all competitors! :-D

British Eurosport have lost the rights to show a lot of WTA tennis events so that gives more time to other sports but other sports are snooker & cycling. But the coverage is way better than I thought it would be.
Anyone know if they will continue to show the Grand Prix Series later this year again ?.

Yes, it's likely to be much better attended than the recent 4 Continents competition in Taipei! :)

Could any Russian speaking posters confirm whether any of the Russian TV channels will be covering Worlds?

Oh? Where did you find this information?

I thought the BBC had rights for Winter Olympics up to at least 2018, and possibly World's - but you're saying they have the rights to the other major ISU competitions as well?

Eurosport didn't have the rights to the Winter Olympics. But both BBC and Eurosport have the rights to ISU championships.

I am laughing that NBC is showing Worlds Coverage on April 13th, two weeks after it ends. I don't have Universal Sports anymore on my cable system, so it'll be illegal streaming if that happens (as w/the Olympics) or watching vids on Youtube.

Does anyone know what happened to Mao88?

She's busy preparing for her last Worlds.

There are legal options as well. I'll try digging for the Russian TV schedule again, no luck so far.

Does that mean I will not be able to watch the live worlds again?
Well... That would depend on where you live, I guess!
I know there are ways to get around the geo-block, too, though no personal experience with them.

Junior Worlds coverage was on CBC this afternoon. There's another day of coverage tomorrow. It was probably pre-taped a couple of days ago since I think the CBC crew are now en-route to Japan for Senior Worlds.

I have just checked the app, it say the live stream is avaiavble in my country. But I am not sure if it will be commentary channel or not. I hope it's the ESP stream, I would love to hear the British Eurosport's commentators.
