not sure if anyone's already said this for Ashely, but she should be skating to malagueña. normally i'm against warhorses but Ashley could do this warhorse and i wouldn't mind one bit.

She already did. It was her long program in the 2010-2011 season.

I would absolutely die if a skater used music from Hayao Miyazaki films, composed by Joe Hisaishi. The score from the movie The Wind Rises is really hard to find on YouTube, but has three running themes along with other pieces of music ("Journey", "Caproni", and "Naoko") that are absolutely gorgeous. Here's one of the "Naoko" pieces:

Also, this song from Spirited Away could be a gorgeous program :)

I would love love love to see an ice dance couple skate to the theme from The Princess Bride. And I will continue to push for Hotel California and Jimi Hendrix until some poor skater feels sorry for me and uses either in a competitive program. We all have dreams.

I think I posted some of these in a previous similar thread, but here are some ideas:

1. Revenge soundtrack: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DOgHd_iM5ok
2. North and South miniseries soundtrack: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NeH8st9ZBCE&list=PL70AAECFF35C688E3
3. Dvorak's New World symphony (maybe someone has done this before???)

There's so much material in the New World Symphony that it will sound fresh and different even if someone else performs to it this season. I'd like to add the Dvorak Cello Concerto, which I think Caroline Zhang used so beautifully a few years ago. Well, Dvorak has so much music that I'd have to spend a whole page listing my favorites, both the well-known and the more obscure pieces. Some of his tone poems, for instance...I should really stop now....

I can't remember if I listed this, but the sound track to an obscure movie from about the late 1960s, Interlude, has wonderful music by Georges Delerue. Romantic, lush, and with both fast and slow sections. There's a vocal section too, but one wouldn't have to use it.

Interlude is a gorgeous piece of music. If someone does skate to it - I hope the skills and the choreography are commensurate.

Game of Thrones soundtrack, Harry Potter soundtrack (Lily's Theme), and Pirates Of the Caribbean (Up is Down in particular!).
Frozen soundtrack (the actual soundtrack and not the songs) would be amazing, IMO Let it Go works only in a show setting (the Let it Go in All That Skate was ok). Let it Go is too cheesy otherwise on ice. Wicked's instrumental should be skated to as well, it has some amazing themes.

Love Lily's Theme...so beautiful. I've been wishing for a long time that skaters give up the old warhorses and skate to something more contemporary. Some have done it with excellent results.

My hope is Hanyu chooses something like this for his LP and not a warhorse/classical piece.

I join those who would loooove for more people to skate to video game music.

Yoko Shimomura produces some absolutely epic soundtracks. I would love to see a powerful skater skate to Destati, called the O Fortuna of video games OSTs by some fans. Or maybe a beautiful and melancholic Somnus.

Aerith's Theme is such an incredibly nostalgic piece for me, I would probably cry if anyone ever used it. Obviously the Final Fantasy Piano Collection stuff is incredible, 素敵だね or Eternity off the top of my head, but the collections are literally filled with gems.

Also love Tomohito Nishiura's stuff (Dark Chronicles, Professor Layton) sooo much.

EDIT: Shadow of the Colossus music :love: Journey OST :love::love:

Hanyu needs to skate to Dvorak's New World Symphony.

Perhaps. But in the first place I'd like to see a Czech skater skate to Czech classical music. Seeing them skate to foreign music year by year is so disappointing; I don't think the inner connection is there as much as it would be if their music was a 'piece of home'. Just my opinion of course.

Please, somebody skate to Leos Janacek's music: SInfonietta (already mentioned on this topic) or Pohadka, or something from On an Overgrown Path (I; II).

Oh my, if someone really did video game music justice, I would swoon. Like if Meryl and Charlie did the opening track for FFVIII, Liberi Fatali, or if Abbott or Brown did a free program to the Journey OST, particularly "Apotheosis".

And yes, the longer live version of the Professor Layton & The Curious Village theme would be perfect.

A technical skater like PChan should tackle Cohen's Masterpiece from the BioShock soundtrack, and it's the perfect length for a SP at 2:53.

Also, someone replaced Michelle Kwan's music from Dream of Desdemona to the Chrono Cross opening theme, and it actually works.

Yoko Shimomura!!
I never thought I would be able to see her name in the Figure skating forum

Here are other great music by her (from Radiant Historia soundtrack)

Maybe this game is not known much to the world, it’s sad that even Japanese don’t know it well.
but it is great and very fun game , a must play for a DS/3DS owner, in my opinion.

More about female (game music) composer, I also like Michiru Oshima’s music (and the game, of course :D).

I would be happy if someone skate to these

Music suggestion for skaters
Hanyu
Heavily edited version Da Vinci's Demons OST (Suggestion: Main theme + Lucrezia Donati's theme)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5YUZOXSJJw8
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zbZ9AvzAUcg

Daisuke / Lambiel
Love Remembered, Dracula OST Wojciech Kilar
...Just because I have thought Daisuke or Lambiel would make an amazing haunting sexy Dracula :p
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e817qtDsIo4
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R1isFKw-5KY

Gracie
Edited version of Love Actually OST.
(Gracie need a piece of cinematic program like Yulia's SL to endear her to the public, something from the 21st century)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ef6dayxB4XI (more edit of Portuguese love theme and Prime Minister's Love theme suited to her style better)

Mirai
Edited version the Island OST (Music for dramatic comeback! She need it!)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=koKuExTsEDg

Yulia
Probably not the most original choice but it is haunting silk and steel theme that can push the lyrical side of her skating. Music goes wonderfully with spinning and she already proves she can do dark, serious and haunting.

Zijun
Always thought she would suit happy traditional Chinese music (喜相逢) as heard in this wonderful movie sequence illustrated by Ang Lee (Warning, not for vegetarians or PETA members), May be in a gala or something.

Oh my, your choices are delightful! Especially Liberi Fatali for D/W. I never saw that Michelle Kwan fanvideo, I'm swoooooning over Chrono Cross. Absolutely no offense to Reynolds but I would love for somebody else to skate to CC music. I also love Girl Who Stole the Stars, although I'm not sure how skate-able it is lol.

Yoko Shimomura is wonderful, sad to say as a North American I haven't heard of Radiant Historia, but as expected the music is top-knotch! Ohhh, how could I have mentioned Shadow of the Colussus OST without mentioning ICO music, what a charming and sad little game. I love You Were There as well as Castle in the Mist.
