@I♥Yuna: Péchalat/Bourzat skated to Organ Donor for their wonderful Madness FD in 2007/08.

Yeah I liked that one :) It was blended with some other music, tho, and the tempo was slower. I like the original version best (maybe for a singles short program instead).

That valse is awesome + Rob Roy <3

I know I remember seeing someone skate to Eine Kleine Nachtmusik, but I don't remember who it was. I've always been surprised more skaters don't skate to Mozart though.

I was looking at the videos listed here (all wonderful selections) and then tried to find just the instrumental portion of Jackie Evancho's cover of "Lovers". I didn't find it but I found this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4IT22eDpK04
It's so pretty.

I posted this a few days ago but I really think this would be a great SP or Gala. Especially around the 1:55 mark. Kind of modern but very classical.

I could see Yulia or a skater with similar intensity pulling it off.

I really like it. Thanks for showing us.

That would be really incredible to see. I think it suits her, obviously things seem different when it's just hypothetical, but it's good without being as cluttered or over-the-top-intense as Sabre Dance. Were you thinking for a short or long program?

I would like it if, for one of her programs she skated to something softer, more lyrical, because she shows quite a bit of gracefulness, and it would be wonderful if a choreographer really showed that side of her.

I want a short dance in leg warmers set to this immortal piece: http://youtu.be/9EcjWd-O4jI

In all seriousness, amongst contemporary film composers I think Patrick Doyle has two great pieces that are a bit underused, but Lipinski used both to great effect: "Much Ado About Nothing" and "Sense and Sensibility". It's rousing and romantic and the cut Tara used in the 1997 worlds was perfect. Having seen her do it at 14, I'd like to see how someone older could interpret the same piece.

Among films of the last few years that aren't Les Miserables, how about Life of Pi, for an Indian-themed piece? It also won an Oscar for its great score. If done right, could be a great companion piece with D/W's wonderful Bollywood number.

It was the height of chic when I was young...er. Although I can't imagine Ashley trying a triple-triple combo with boots, a catsuit (borrowed from Aljona or Tania V) and a FANNY PACK. :p

Sometimes when I watch skating videos on youtube I also turn on one of my favorite songs, just to seem like that is the program's actual music

My sister and I do this too  (Here are my favorite alternates for Yuna :p)

Short Program (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b5SDN7NP-Og)
^Mute & she begins on the first word of:
Hijo de la Luna (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=POgViZ_Zcek)
^ So beautiful <3 The lyric "Luna de plata" means "Moon of Silver" (like her medal )

Free Skate (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3x3wEvzZSjM)
^Mute & she starts right at 0:05 seconds on this next song [so *bop*bop* guitar234... start(234)...]:
Seekers Who Are Lovers (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wf1tEMlViLY)
^Some tiny adjustments here and there, and a different style costume = it's like a whole other program & story :)

As for me, I begin to miss Requiem for a Dream and Totentanz... These melodies used to be quite popular some time ago, but I can't remember anybody skating to them lately.
And I always like people skating to NotreDame de Paris (I'm a big fan of this musical) and to Pirates of the Carribean.

Yeah, I would like more Pirates of the Carribean. The last time I saw it was at Leonova in 2012 and that was a great short program.

Alena Leonova and Anita Madsen are happy to oblige!

But yes, neither is as popular as they were a few years back.

Now, can someone please skate to the Princess Mononoke symphonic suite? Anyone?

May I suggest Joe Hisaishi's score for the film Departures (Okuribito)? For those of you who remember it won the Best Foreign Film Oscar in 2008. The entire score:

https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLF3B3DF9A1FE6A64D

The best piece, which runs 4:11, the perfect length for a FS: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UiyFeT0Tpkk&feature=share&list=PLF3B3DF9A1FE6A64D&index=1

For this I see ... Akiko, in an exhibition number. It's the sort of open, emotional but not too light or sentimental piece that suits her well.

If someone did an American Hustle program (since lyrics are allowed next season), I would literally be a fan for life.

I've always wanted someone to skate an SP to this: Warm Air by Vanessa Mae http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UhmVZvocTp0

When I listen to it, I can hear good places to put a spin, lol.

Very beautiful!!! I also imagine the sound of a spin when I hear music like this. I've gone so far as to record spins and put them into music I've written. Thanks for the link!

Do you have anyone in mind you'd like to see skate to it?

Not really, but I think I think it would require a skater who is very lyrical, and someone with good control of their edges.
