As long as the controller is consistent with the calls, it will be good for the young ladies to learn from an early age that urs are big troubles.

Ziggy will be developing a peptic ulcer right about now.

Good draw for Karen, very excited to see if she can skate her best. Talent wise she's head and shoulders above everyone other than perhaps Radionova, Radionova has much better style right now though....it'll be interesting.

I'm sorry, WHAT?

Karen has a nice presentation technique and has insane SS, but Radionova has a more defined style and is more comfortable on the ice, she knows who she is and she embraces it. Karen still seems a bit like she's trying to find her niche. By the way, what Radionova is, is exuberance on ice. Plus she has better TR.

It seems odd to make the SENIOR Grand Prix Final and skate in the WJC. I know Yulia did it but at least she withdrew from GPF first and skated injured to level the field a bit. Not sure if this is good for Elena or not. Still think IMHO Proklova>Medvedeva .

Hey Sam-Skwantch- Are you forgetting that Elena is injured too?

Edit- Oh yeah. Still feels weird!

B/c most of Russia's top skaters are so young, this has been the case for everyone for the past few years. Both Liza T and Adelina debuted on the senior GP but were too young to go to senior worlds so they went to junior worlds instead; well, Adelina did...Liza declined. The year after that Julia debuted on the senior GP and ended up going back to junior worlds...same for Elena this year.

The Russian ladies are just so young...Elena should be eligible for senior worlds next year though. Given that no one has really stood out on the junior level this year, I think going back to junior worlds is a good move for Elena. She can make history by becoming the first lady to win back-to-back titles and she is definitely the favorite coming in.

I think Prokolova would have been a better choice too...

FWIW, they are upping the age for the GP to match the one for Euros/Worlds/4CC so you will unlikely see this again..

All of the top contenders for JW (except for Elena Radionova, of course) this year will all be back for the full junior season in 2014-2015 because most of them are still too young under the new age requirement for GP. (Although Tyler Pierce from the U.S. will be old enough; she turned 15 late last year; but I think she'll likely stay on for another year in JGP given the depth of the field in the U.S.)

For Radionova to replace Proklova, because obviously they're going to prefer a healthy Radionova over Proklova, Proklova had to go away i.e fake injury. So it'd be pretty fishy if they suddenly brought her back. It's a shame because Medvedeva's skating hits me oddly and I don't know why but it doesn't appeal to me, particular her slowness. Proklova is awesome, nothing like Julia other than her size, but better in most aspects other than spins and consistency.

My ulcers are already killing me as it is!!!

This is great draw for Kryger in terms of getting GOE and PCS boost (and she needs it :p) but I am really worried that she might crumble under pressure. :slink:

She doesn't have a 3loop so she'll need to skate clean to make it to the FS.

It's actually a pretty fun final group with SUPER VOIDY Ventard coming before Kryger. :)

Surely Medvedeva, Miyahara and even Rika Hongo have a better shot of making the final group than Da Bin Choi and Tyler Pierce. Alaine Chartrand probably has a better shot than them. I'd put all of the aforementioned save Hongo and Chartrand above Turzynbaeva when it comes to a shot of the final group too.
