That's all I could find so I supplied what I had. As far as I am concerned the tech panel plays a big role in the judging.

When do we find out the judges?

Usually just before the short programs.

Not great for Americans in dance. No US judge.
Hurth is French, Zukiwisky is Canadian, Ponomarenko lives in the US, but is Russian (yes that :) Ponomarenko. His son and wife are associated with Shpilband's school.) Looking good for P&B.

Thank you, Sam-Sqwantch; tech panel also matters as we know. I just forgot to mention it :)

There will only be ONE judge for World's... and that will be ME!
I will decide for myself, who was great and who was not!

What the ISU judges think, will be mildly interesting. Possibly even entertaining.

But I stopped really caring what they think, a long time ago. It's cool and all when they give good scores to those who earned them, when they seem to do a good job, when they seem to be fair... but these days it just doesn't matter to me so much if they do or don't.

There's going to be a lot of fantastic skating... drama, emotion, surprise, disappointment, heartbreak and triumph... and I am stoked for all that! I am going to enjoy the spectacle that unfolds ON the ice! :-D

As for the "drama" and "controversy" that's inevitably going to follow, OFF the ice... can't be bothered. Don't care who the official judges are.

My feelings exactly. I will decide which performances are best. The ISU made such a mockery of the scoring at Sochi that their reputation has been utterly undermined. The composition of judging on this thread for the ladies at Worlds further confirms this view.

LADIES
AUS AUT BEL CAN EST FRA GER GBR LTU SWE SUI UKR USA
There are no Asian judges on this panel or on the tech panel, even though Asian skaters (non-Russians) compose more than 20 percent of the competitors. Furthermore, if the ISU had any interests in fairness after the Sochi debacle, they would have no judges from any eastern bloc nations bordering Russia. yet Ukraine, Lithuainia and Estonia are all Eastern bloc nations and members of the former Soviet Union. I realize that many people in these countries dislike Russians, but many also support them. We saw the results this judging bloc gave us in Sochi. With the situation in Crimea, I thought they would be more tactful, but I guess I was wrong. Also, European are (over-represented) and North Americans (well-represented) on these panels. In my opinion, It looks like downright discrimination against Asian skaters. I hope the competition is judged fairly in any case and that my suspicions are wrong. The performances will speak for themselves.

So it is good or bad to have judges when they have strong contenders or not? Make up your mind people.

Furthermore, if the ISU had any interests in fairness after the Sochi debacle, they would have no judges from any eastern bloc nations bordering Russia. yet Ukraine, Lithuainia and Estonia are all Eastern bloc nations and members of the former Soviet Union. Your suggestion is pure discrimantion and absolutely wrong. Pure and simple.
They are indipendent countries and have all the rights to be there. If you don't like it deal with it.

Also, European are (over-represented) and North Americans (well-represented) on these panels.

You want to eliminate them as well? :rolleye:

In my opinion, It looks like downright discrimination against Asian skaters.

Oh really?! :sarcasm: It's ok to discriminate Eastern judges though right?!
It sounds you want double standarts and hypocrisy not fairness. :disapp:

The idea of banning multiple former soviet countries from judging is gaining steam because if a judge is from ukraine its Russia 2 if a judge is from Estonia it's Russia 2. South Korea is actively promoting this thinking that all former soviet countries are just russia and isu has a rule that one country can't provide more than one judge and Russia is providing 15 according to South Korea and allies.
