…Alexander Gorshkov says that at Friday both Victoria and Nikita turn to Russian Federation with idea of skating together.
“It is hard to say anything to this situation, yet. To understand what athletes can show in future, it is necessary to allow specialists to see them skate. Let them skate, let them try together and then we will decide if it worthwile.“

...Gorshkov says something very similar to previous interview, repeats that no specialists saw Victoria and Nikita skating together.

I have some questions. That tryout of Victoria and Nikita... how many days it will take? With what coach? Where? In Novogorsk or in US? What about Lena and Ruslan? Should they take it like finish of previous partnerships or should they wait if Victoria, Nikita or Federation come with idea that a tryout is not so good?

How many time? How many time do they need to waste to answer two questions? All couples are training, thinking about new programs, music, learning Paso Doble....while Lena and Ruslan still have to wait if Nikita and Viki will look well together..and Russian Federation will decide....someday...

...is it really so problematic to take both couples and let them skate whole two days under control of all Russian Federation and decide immediately? Was it necessary to wait so long until Nikita and Victoria will support off ice rumours with official request?

In my personal opinion Bukin was already overshadowed by Stepanova who would be overshadowed by both Victoria and Ruslan.

You have to be blind to not see Stepanova's huge effort to move any of her limbs. If she is better than Bukin, maybe Zhiganshin should skate with her. Why not? Amazing lifting technique of Ruslan could help them. This leaves Elena and Ivan to skate together. They are weak/bad/less talented skaters in russian ice dancing after all

This is really insulting for both couples, especially for Elena and Ruslan that have to wait in order to know what will become of them and waste more time.

Vera in one weak, after separation from her partner:
1. Found a new partner
2. Found a new coach
3. Did all medical exames
4. Already completed her tryout with the new partner.

This is becoming a joke.

You are funny.

Watching Russian Nationals 2014:
Can you explain me how is it possible that in choreo parts where both Alexandra and Ivan are doing exactly the same movements....they have great synchro which means that they move with their limbs - legs in the same speed....so where is Alexandra's problem with moving her limbs?

Can you explain me why is Bukin also completely loosing timing in Finnstep sections (not only Alexandra) if he is sooo much better than she is?

Can you explain me how is it possible that not only Alexandra loses speed in step sequence, but Ivan also loses speed in step sequence? Not touching step sequence? Usually technically stronger partner moves faster across the ice...but both Alexandra and Ivan moves in the same speed. How is it possible if he is so much stronger than she is?

Can you explain me how Lena Ilinykh's deep and smooth knee's action can work with Ivan Bukin's not deep at all and quite stiff knee's action?

Great example.

What sounds bad to me is the fact that Ruslan and Lena can't move anywhere without Victoria, Nikita, Federation's final decision. Nobody asks them and nobody tries to make it more comfortable for them...while Viki and Nikita will get time for acclimatisation and then they will show how they look together. And Lena and Ruslan will wait until somebody from Russian Federation come to them and say how Viki and Nikita look lovely together and that they (Lena and Ruslan) are free to skate with...who knows with who...and it can be already the end of April...

Thak you for saying that, Alba!

For about a week after the rumours surfaced, this was the most exciting drama to happen in figure skating for donkey's years!

But, with the way it is dragging on, it has got really boring. It's got to the stage that I feel like screaming "just make a decision and get on with it!"

There are too many skaters being left in limbo while this gets dragged out.

I know it's only the start of April, but at the end of the day, it's not long until the season kicks off again in September.

It takes time to put 2 Programmes together, and to practice them. And all this dithering is going to put ALL the skaters involved on the backfoot coming into next season.

So, for goodness sake, just get on with it and make a decision, so that the skaters can get prepared for next season.

I doubt that Nikita could ever find a better partner than Lena. Karma will come back and bite him for sure.

So could it be that the Russian Fed really supported this from the beginning? Have we missed the script completely on this one and it has nothing to do with the personal issues or lack thereof between Lena and Nikita? I think someone in the Fed has been wanting to do this for some time. If I were Lena and Ruslan I would skate so well so as to prove to them all that they could be far superior to Nick and Vick. Because who in their right mind is going to skate with either of these two after being humiliated like this? Or,

Is it that Ruslan and Elena are also in a probationary period as well? And may the most viable pair win?

Nikita lacks something, a sensitivity chip, a moral compass something. His actions speak of an arrogance OR he could just be someone's puppet. But still he HAS no backbone? Is the russian fed or person(s) within the same, so biased towards a particular aesthetics (long, ultra-lean, blond) to not realize that there are several other factors required to make a great pairing? Just a thought since so many including Averbuch seem to think that Elena is too "fat"? Maybe they're related to sky_fly20.

Why are Ruslan and Lena being treated like chopped liver? They are not beautiful like Nikita and Victoria? I REALLY REALLY HOPE ELENA AND RUSLAN wipe the ice with them!!

I don't believe that Russian Federation would know the split info sooner. They took so much time to look like that nothing happens, now they take another time for final decision.

Just compare it with how fast Vera and Juriy's split happened, one day he said it, next day a coach confirmed it, then immediately Russian Federation...it happened so fast that Vera had to be shocked for sure...she even didn't have time to think about it and everybody else confirmed it and took it like a final decision. So, Vera and Juriy's split...it was prepared and Russian Federation knew about it.

But reaction to Lena and Nikita....no, they didn't know.

Russian Federation - Gorshkov never mentioned watching Lena and Ruslan together, maybe they already saw them, but Gorshkov never mentioned that a specialists need to see Lena with Ruslan. It is quite strange, because when Viki took her things from ice rink...Ruslan had a tryout with Lena - probably last weekend and then he told the Federation that they will spend waiting period training together with Lena, and he did it on Monday, while Viki and Nikita told the Federation about skating together officially today.

Absolutely. It's affecting Elena and Ruslan and badly. I really hope that they have at least tried to see if they can work together, just in case. No need to wait for Victoria and Nikita at this point.

Precisely. I'm not sure what they think they're doing really. I mean it's clear that there can't be a go back to their old partners. The trust and harmony it's gone and it's obvious that Nikita and Victoria don't want to, so whether the tryout works or not according to the "specialists" it shouldn't matter for Elena and Ruslan. They should move on starting from now.

I doubt that Nikita could ever find a better partner than Lena. Karma will come back and bite him for sure.

I'm not sure I can blame him either at this point. He made it clear to them that he wanted to skate with Victoria and not with Elena anymore. This is a story been dragged by the Fed I'm afraid, hoping to change his mind but doing to Elena no good at all, IMO.

I don't think so. The Russina Fed. have invested on them and I think they saw them as we saw, the next couple who could dominate the next quad and bring Russia the gold medal in Korea.
This dragging is the result of that. I think they were hoping to force or make Nikita somehow to change his mind, and meanwhile doing control damage with bollocks.

Why does Nikita wield that much power even though he cost them world gold two months ago? Something doesn't add up!

It's not just Nikita, it's Morozov. And the federation can't force him to stay with Elena, so now they just have to try to salvage something from this mess, whether that's Nikita & Victoria, or finding Nikita someone completely different if they don't think he & Victoria are suited to each other.
