ok, russian fem babies are deep and getting deeper, but where are the russian men?
Boys are usually slower than girls so you can't see them blossom at this age. Naturally they will show their full talents at the age of 18-23. So we will have to wait.

This girl is incredible!!! She has very good skating skills, deep edges and great jumps for someone her age (she was born in Dec 2002). She placed 7th in Russian junior Nats this year with clean programmes including 3flip/3toe, 2axel, 3loop (SP) and 3flip/3toe, 3lutz, 2axel, 3flip/2toe, 3loop, 3salchow, 3toe/2toe/2toe (FS). She did clean 3flip/3toes already at age 9!

Another interesting Russian girl is Elizaveta Nugumanova (born Aug 2002): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m1nGRrVg7eE&app=desktop

I just "discovered" Anastasia Gubanova. She is amazing and just 11 yrs old.

Here she was 10 yrs old I think.

Elizaveta reminds me a lot of Serafima. A lot. Is she from St. Petersburg as well? She just has very similar technique and artistry. This is a good thing! I must admit that I almost turned it off after the half loop but I'm glad I stayed tuned in. I just can't get down with a half loop most of the time. Too disruptive for my taste. Everything else was great. A little forced on the jump landings but great artistry. :)

Yes, she is from St. Petersburg, but she is coached by Mishina, while Sakhanovich is coached by A. Pisarenko.

Maybe it's the water. I love Serafima so its exciting to see another little Serafima in the system. This is getting crazy over there. So much talent.

I love the Russian girls! They're all so gritty, determined, talented and competitive. It's insane how much talent the country is boasting right now. They're all so good already and what's more shocking/terrifying is that they all have room to improve and get even better. What's even more shocking than that? There is a seemingly endless stream of talented up-and-comers.

I will be shocked beyond belief if there isn't at least one Russian on every international podium next season...

I agree but it's true that they are still young. You just never know how they will grow up. However, I imagine with so many still some will make it.

So is Adelina finished? Is it weight or curves (puberty)? One wonders if it is a lot of weight. Can she lose it?
No Adelina isn't done. I would still think she is hungry to keep her younger compariots at bay and comeback strong next season. I hope Yulia, Anna and Elena push Adelina to new heights in the coming years. Of course they may pass her by too. We shall see. Ade is making good money and is famous. She is a huge heroid name in Russia forever now. I hope her main goal is to win worlds and be ready for 2018. But making money for her little sisters surgeries and doctors visits must be important to Ade because she is the bread winner for her family. The greater a figure skater she becomes the more money she can demand on and off the ice. To me she's earned her fame and money. Now how great can she become?
