Yuna's Les Mis! I think it is the bets overall (technically+artistically) skated program

Thanks for that, and wow, that bielman /leaning back spin thing she did.

She seems to be able to execute a Biellman and a layback at the same time and then alternates between a standing Biellman amd then back to her Layback variation all while gaining speed. :eek;

I watched the Plushenko Tosca exhibition. To me, he over-emotes a bit so it feel doesn't seem that natural, but that is minor. A great performance, so full of energy, and lots of beautiful jumps as well.

Then I watched the Nijinsky program. Just amazing! He has everything, the spins, the jumps, the step sequence was fab, great music and the programme flowed so well, to me (who is an amateur) there doesn't seem to be anything to fault at all (hence the perfect score I suppose!). He looks like such a strong skater. Damn, if Plushenko was in top form against the current competitors, I think he'd blow them all out of the water.

SP
I second Yuna Kim 2009 Worlds SP.
Yuna's 2007 Worlds SP, it is what made me fall in love with figure skating even more.
Mirai Nagasu's 2010 Olympic SP is quite amazing.

LP
Yuna's Worlds 2013 LP which is literally THE best thing I have ever seen.
Plushenko's Nijinsky program LP (all 6.0's across the board) .

Exhibition
Irina Slutskaya's 2002 Olympic Ex.
Plushenko's Tosca exhibition I also really loved for the magnificent step sequences.

I watched the Yuna Kim 2009 SP and the 2013 LP you mentioned

Perhap's it's a difference between SP and LP (and music), but there was a real difference of energy/vibe from Yuna between her 2009 and the 2013 performance. It made me think about the difference that four years can make to a skater, at 18 she seems so youthful and vibrant and there's more of a positivity in her skating. I felt for the 2013 (beautifully performed and I loved her outfit) she seems more.. um conservative in her emotions? Maturity perhaps?

It's a shame she's retired, I mean, she's only what, 23?!

Glad you liked it. I actually thought that she brought her skating to an even higher level in Worlds 2013 LP. I mean I did not think she could get more brilliant than the Danse Macabre 2009 WC but I think in Les Mis she really conveyed all of the emotions from the actual musical, and her skating style has of course matured a bit. As the commentator said, she "did not put a foot wrong".

You mean 2003. It was heck of a performance esp with her injury. :)

Her enthusiasm for competing noticeably disappeared after 2010.

You might enjoy Yuna's last successful 7 triple program at the CoR 2007: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=viTmXrd4Ggg

I know I did. It brought me back to her younger, naive days. Her skating was so fiery, but innocent. But I do enjoy her more mature skating. :)

Also: to think that younger skaters right now are scoring miles above this program is saddening..

Wow, that performance was utterly beautiful. Thank you.

What do you think of this one? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4OZzh7PUbnk To me it's so crazy, it's good. I first saw him at the gala at SC, skating a slightly better version of this program, but it's impossible to find a video of that one.

Shawn is fabulous. I believe he is doing Stars On Ice Canada again this year. I can't wait to see what he comes up with this time.

If you like Plush, I'd also recommend you watch his 2001 GPF 2 quad combination FS, Which solidified him in the Rivalry with Yagudin,
And was the start of his first sweep year in all major events :

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lpby0msa22Q

His 4-3-3 clean 2003 GPF winning performance, Which showed who's about to rule the coming quadrennial:

And his 2005 GPF performances, Which was, to me, His last clean great no apologies or excuses needed competition,
Before he dumbed down "The godfather" for the Olympic year that followed:
