We're optimistic.
I believe this is essentially her problem. Her intelligence and independence has apparently intimidated and infuriated some. So the only way to hurt her is to attach her frailties, i.e. her poor choices in men. Hopefully though she will rise above this.
Apparently Vika and Nikita and Zueva also did an interview with the German magazine Pirouette. Nikita said that Lena was unstable and too prone to error (WOW!), while lovely Vika said she saw no future skating with Ruslan (WOW!). I just have a feeling not only will I/Z serve these two some humble pie, but also W/P, C/L, S/S, B/S etc. I have never seen such arrogance in ice dance in a long time. Meryl truly is a class act! They make Moir look meek

This is what I sense. There are some very powerful people backing S/K so I don't see I/Z being supported at home early. I believe they will get their just due internationally. All I pray for them is they DOMINATE!!!
I mean no really. "I am grateful for all that Ruslan and I achieved together, especially making the Olympic team. This change was a difficult decision for me, however I wish him all the best with his new partnership". Class is a rare commodity these days. Snap didn't Zueva label these two the new face of Russian ice dance, cultured and educated? Now I am really mad

ELENA made too many mistakes??
NIKITA always had trouble with his twizzles! He gave away their gold at Worlds and made a mistake on them at the Olympics as well.
Elena fell once at Europeans at the twizzles but HE also made a mistake there.
Seriously this is just outrageous.
When I first heard they had split, I honestly immediately thought:
" She left him because he always messes up"
Now I know better of course. Nikita doesn't understand partnership and his self-evaluation is completely wrong
I understood why Viktoria did it at first. .. she's not that good of a dancer and Nikita is older and more experienced than Ruslan- she hoped he would lift her up.
But I think either she's that kind of person who obeys without comment and always crawles on her knees or she'll soon realize that Nikita is, in fact, not capable of partnership.

I don't think it's the FED behind this. Could be, I don't know, but Elena said in the interview they had all what they asked for in order to work.
I'm also convinced that if I&Z can show they are worth it the FED will fully back them. At the moment there isn't much they can do.
I&Z has to be tested first, and they will have their chances. So yes, I agree with you, they have to BRING IT HARD!
Is the best response they can give to these people. It will take some time, and patience is needed.

Let's not confuse support, with some minor circles that spread gossip. Sometimes when you don't have the support you wish for, you spread gossip.It's a rule of life.
Nobody knows what the fed thinks, and while some people want the others to believe one story, there is always someone spreading that story so that the rival gets psychologically hurt, and be doubtful. This is how ice dancing was, is and will always be. Mental game between groups.
And the husband stories, the men stories, the support stories, are stories, probably spread by one or two people affiliated to one or two other people.That tell that to someone, who tells that to someone else. And the third one have two reliable sources. And then nothing happens.
It's actually amazing if someone notices the timing of all this kind of stuff, generally.
And a couple of ill wishers, combined with bitter fans that were somewhere for the wrong reasons doesn't equal judges, federations,specialists and so on.

First I wanted to ask you for the source, because I hardly believe that I could anytime read anything like this...far to classy...but then I found a Russian translation of the German article at one of the Forums...I translated the article in Vika & Nikita thread.
Even Zueva took the same way of talking like Vika & Nikita did...surprising....
Sisinka, nothing surprises me anymore. Zueva is desperate for champions, D/W and V/M are both blowing in the wind.
However I really miss the class of Meryl Davis and Charlie White especially. Thank goodness we still have the Shibs and Capellini and Lanotte.
By the way has anyone seen any of the new SD or FD of the season? The US International Figure Skating Challenge was recently held and their is not one SD or FD? Puhlease, does anyone have a link? Thanks

The Salt Lake Senior B dances are on Icenetwork, but I haven't found any vids of senior dances, other than in Russian test skates, and Canadian summer competitions.

Not really surprising. Politicking. I think Zueva knows that while both Elena and Nikita were great skaters, Elena was the star. Especially when Nikita is more mistake prone. She has to know that fan wise a lot of people are on the I/Z train. Even she was initially against their split. She has to see that out of the 4 Vika is the weakest link(I'm not trying to bash but watch S/Z videos). She is going to require more work than Ruslan and I think she is starting to realize this.

Don't be sorry. I am no fan of politicking. Let the skaters skate. It's such a big part of ice dance and it shouldn't be.
I don't even bother to be honest. I have heard all that around for the last couple of years, at least now some can understand who was going around with this.I even expected worse. And for me is not worth caring, if you care you give people what they want.Attention.It wasn't really surprising that someone shoulld say all this as an excuse if people were more familiar with the person. And it's no worth wasting any salive
I prefer to adopt I/Z attitude to all this, and what Elena said in the recent interview, fans shouldn't create wars, things are the past, she and Ruslan are doing their job.I admire and respect the way they are so above this, while fans still talk about fed and support, and stories from russian forums.It honestly exhausts me, and I think it's just drama for the drama. So I choose to be with the ones that first of all I prefer as skaters and don't care about the drama.
