A few snippets of Yuzu's LP.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pyp7PxNZIEA

And what's wrong with a teenager skating to a teenage love story? .

nothing wrong, except that the team has told many time the press Yuzu has to grew and mature because he is a young man and not a boy anymore .... and now a recycled teen role is back, together with a recycled SP Yuzuru doesn't clearly want to to skate to .

Does it mean Orser has finally allowed Yuzu to hug his beloved Pooh Bear officially ?

It seems the team doesn't have many ideas about how to handle Yuzu and maybe they're a little confused (man? Boy?both ?..) about the packaging. I hope his EX will be completely new at least.

The reason they were 4th in the FD was because of their TES. They still need to improve that area. Regardless of coach Kustarova or Zhulin they are putting themselves in danger of losses to I/K at Euros and bronze to C/L because the team of B/S just seems to be weak technically. The PCS and GOE from more transitions could help them but they have a problem! Last in the FD at the GPF. Second to I/K in the Euros FD, 4th in the FD at worlds. All because they can't maintain good levels across the board in the FD. But obviously if they win Olympic bronze with a fourth in the FD they wont care LOL! It just makes them constantly at risk of not medaling.

the russian dancers (I and K and B and S miss levels and make mistakes they need to work on that and must be at least 3rd or fourth technically to have any chance of holding of C and L or P and B or the upcoming Canadians and Americans. I thought I and K had the better shot but their work ethic seem to be problem.

I appreciate p and b's desire to medal; I do wonder will they go out like D and S from their contry who ran out of time with her pregnancy.

I've been looking for full-length versions of Adelina's FS, but all of the ones I've found seem to be the slightly-less-than-three-minutes music cut from the Russian test skate. Has anyone else had more success?

^There is no full length version, she only skated half the program like some of other skaters who where there.

Yuzuru Hanyu
SP: "Parisienne Walkways" (the same as last season's SP)
FS: Nino Rota's "Romeo & Juliet" Soundtrack

Hasn't Yuzuru said recently that he 'wanted' a new SP for this Olympic season?

Mao to bring back Chopin's Nocturne, Patrick again to skate to Rach's Elegie, Tomas to bring back Tango medley from Vancouver season, now Yuzuru...Okay, who's next? Javier as Chaplin #2, maybe? :sarcasm: ITA that Nocturne was a perfect vehicle for Mao, Patrick's Elegie was a masterpiece and Yuzuru's Parisianne Walkways was 'mind-blowingly' good, but sorry I just donot like it when skaters are to carry over programs from previous season(s), and would even hate it if it's top skaters.

As for his LP, idk what to say...Yuzuru's talent is enormous, he's very musical so that can express any music. He can do so much better than just pretending a sweet, tender young prince on ice. Orser must be having trouble to split his time to coach two medal-contenders (Yuzu and Javi), and Wilson must be too busy helping YuNa, maybe?

Yuzuru, it's time to come back home. To Nanami, please! Time, money and all other sacrifice (e.g. you and your mom living in a hotel room in Toronto while the rest of your family still in Sendai) that you and your family has been paying so far is not worthy I would believe. :disapp:

Well, Yu-Na could bring back Gershwin :laugh:

I generally agree about rehashed programs, but in Mao's case the program was skated 7 years ago and she can bring a very different look and feel to the program now. It is still the type of music that will showcase her strengths: her maturity, her ease of movement, and the lightness of her jumps.

I agree with with this. I think this is the perfect vehicle for showcasing her growth from teenager to a young woman.

Ditto Deedee (hey that rhymes!) Even though Romeo and Juliet is among my fav programs of all time, and Hanyu is one of my all time fav skaters, but I really expect something much better from him sigh..... rehash his WR programs/character is plain lazy/typecasting, sooo Patrick Chan.. urghh...Oh Hanyu!

Everyone seems to play very safe this year. You forgot Jeremy is redoing his Muse too (but actually I am looking forward to it) With exception of Dai (+ Jason brown?) so far. Anyone doing something original, risk taking and brave new genres deserve +3 from me and hopefully the judges.

Or Lark Ascending.:p That was one program that she said she regretted not doing to its fullest potential/"perfectly".

Orser said that they'd been working on finding music for a new SP, but that the new SP was coming out with a very similar mood to Parisian Walkways, to 'since it's very similar' he proposed to just keep it. They are going to rework the choreography and change the costume.

Yuzuru has a record on Golden Skate, by the way: the greatest amount of so-called 'fans' who wish him bad  Patrick's fans are desperate for him to find a good tech coach because they want him to win the Olympics, and Yuzuru's 'fans' want him to give up half of his on-ice training, his dancing classes, his skating skills and compulsory figure training, all of his new specialised coaches, loads of available ice whenever he wants it, his acupuncturist, his new free program that he actually likes, so that he can go back to training in the middle of the night in Sendai alone. And after doing this, he will obviously become a better skater

Speaking of new programs, the USFSA is tweeting nonstop about Champs Camp. It looks like D/W, C/B, and S/S have already skated their short dances; the pairs are up next. Then, I would imagine, come the ladies (who have already practiced).

I know that these are closed performances, so to speak, but I still hope that we get SOME updates on what the programs look like.

Yeah, especially getting an acupuncturist is much more important than new, original, showcasing his strengths, exciting programs :rolleye:

It is important if it's helping with his asthma and he couldn't find a good one in Japan.
Besides that, I usually don't comment programs I've yet to see :) I might like it, I might not like it. It might not be exciting to me. What we know right now is that he's pretty enthusiastic about it, and since he's the one skating it and not us, what can we say? I'd like him to skate to more risky things as well, but he's the kind of skater who likes POTO. Does it makes sense to make him skate risky programs for the Olympic season just because he 'should' do it, when he might not even be inclined to do it?

So disappointed with Hanyu's program selections. Not sure why some are arguing that it is "risky" to skate a new program. Why? It's much worse to recycle programs. I think there should be a 5-point penalty in the SP and a 10-point penalty in the LP for any programs that are re-used, even if they claim they are "re-worked."
