So the first JGP is just a month from today! Can't believe it. Do you think we'll hear about the entries this week?

Entries by name must be sent to ISU and French federation before July 18, 2014 – 20:00 h (local time Paris). I'm sure we'll see the list this week.

So, initial thoughts...

Evgenia Medvedeva sure seems like the favorite here. Amber Glenn and Karen Chen could podium. Surprised to see Leah Keiser out on the JGP again. Thought she might get a Challenger event.

Lots of new names!!

It's only Amber entered. US only earned 1 Ladies spot per JGP due to Junior Worlds finishes. I just posted the entries in a separate thread with substitutes removed (since boy did some countries have a lot of subs).

Regarding JGP events vs. the Challenger series of Senior internationals:

The rules allow a skater to compete in both, AFAIK.

The excerpt below is from Page 3 of ISU Communication No. 1858, "ISU Challenger Series in Figure Skating." (Emphasis added.)
Participation is open to all Skaters/Couples of ISU Members, who are eligible for International “Senior” Competitions by age (Rule 108) and by citizenship (109), and entered through the respective ISU Member. There is a limitation for the Skaters/Couples to three (3) participations in the events of the ISU Challenger Series. Participation in any of an ISU Junior Grand Prix event or a (Senior) Grand Prix event does not limit the participation in events of the ISU Challenger Series. However Skaters having participated in the Junior and/or (Senior) ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating during the same season should not have priority to enter events of the Challengers Series.

Thx to Antilopa for flagging that the entry lists became available. :)

Anastasia KOLOMIETS may pretend to podium.
It is her first International Junior season, but she is well known in Russia. She is the best of new Russian Junior Ladies (first Junior season by age).

Yes, Medvedeva for Gold and Kolomiets vs Glenn for Silver seems reasonable... In boys, Samarin should easily win, while we have some very interesting entries in Ice Dance: Nazarova/Nikitin, Edwards/Pang and Loboda/Drozd all have high level
