Hubbell and Donohue to appear at Gratiot County Event

St. Louis, Michigan—The ice dancing pair of Madison Hubbell and Zachary Donohue will speak at the Relay For Life of Gratiot County in St. Louis Friday, August 8 at 6pm. Relay For Life is an annual community event that celebrates cancer survivors and their caregivers, honors the memory of those lost to cancer, and raises funds to assist the American Cancer Society in its research and patient care efforts. Hubbell and Donohue will appear at the event’s Fight Back Ceremony to inspire the crowd with their thoughts on keeping focused on a goal despite obstacles.

Hubbell and Donohue finished fourth in the 2014 U.S. Championships, narrowly missing a spot on the U.S. Olympic team. The pair went on to win gold at the 2014 Four Continents Championships. Together since 2011, they train at the Detroit Skating Club in West Bloomfield, Michigan.

Heather Cook, an administrative assistant at the American Cancer Society, said, “I’ve known Madi and Zach for years, and know they are as generous as they are dynamic. It’s no surprise to me that they would want to lend their voices to the cause of fighting a disease that affects so many families.”

The Gratiot County Relay For Life is free and open to the public. It is a 24-hour event, beginning at 3pm this Friday and concluding at 3pm Saturday, and takes place at the St. Louis High School football field, 113 E. Saginaw St. More information can be found at www.relayforlife.org/gratiotcountymi.
