I really liked the Russian and Canadian teams, as well as Carreira/Ponomarenko - so young!

McNamara's moves were much smoother than I remembered :)

Popova is excellent but I feel like Vlasenko is merely there because she needs a tall guy to skate with

Eek. The most anyone got on one of the sequences was a level 2, and most teams didn't even get that on either of them.

It really came down to levels. The top four teams received similar GOE. (Though Pomerenko/Carriera had lower PCS as well.)

Yeah, that's what I noticed. That's why it'll be interesting to see the next competitions for some of these teams. Last season. Bent/MacKeen won their first event (Latvia) with a L4 on one sequence and a L3 on the other in the SD but were 7th in their second event (Slovakia) with lower levels, an L2 and L1 plus some elements in their FD that were called lower.
