I just watched Ivett Toth skate. Even though she had a fall...her skate was really good. Her eyes lit up and she appeared to say "ooh" when her score came up. Getting a personal best with a fall has to show progress and that you're trending in a good direction.

Great job Karen, though I'm still amazed she can pull such scores with a 3L-2T combo. Must've got some level 4s and extra GOE for the higher TES.

It will be interesting to see how Proklova/Sotskova fare.

ETA: At 35.94, Karen officially has the highest TES of all the U.S ladies in the the SP so far. :popcorn:

Not only high levels, but all her elements are pristine -- great height, flow out of jumps that have pretty difficult transitions (and on the music), fast/centered/great positions on spins, good content and expression on step sequence!

Yeah, i love the fact she does the 3Z and then BAM, the 2A to the music.

In any case, Karen Chen might be a sleeper for the medals in U.S. Ladies (she is competing at the senior level nationally this year).
