I wonder if Ella Korpi in junior ladies is related to Kiira?

^I think this was just the 2nd qualification competition til Finnish Nationals: http://www.stll.fi/?x2126=5137580
Note: furthest down it states that top 6 in senior (top 9 in juniors) from comp 1 and from comp 2 qualify to Nats together with the reigning medallists.

Nationals will be held 19.-21. of December in Vantaa: http://www.hsk.fi/kilpailut/kausi-2014-2015/yksinluistelun-ja-jaatanssin-sm2/

No she isn't

Kiira has a sister though, she goes by the name of Petra Korpi.

I also thought it was so early for Finnish Nationals. Maybe Kiira will also compete? She will be at Golden Spin next week.

Yes, Kiira will compete at Finnish Nationals. She did not need to qualify for that even though she did not compete at last year's nationals. Below is a list of those who qualified for the nationals but all of them might not compete as we know Juulia Turkkila won't compete because of injury but her name is still on this list.

Worth of notification: both Jenni Saarinen and Viveca Lindfors are 15 and got better TES than Kiira. Junior champion Karoliina Luhtonen has not been competing in Finland before. She is Finnish, but her mother is from Russia and she has been living and competing there during last years.

Jenni Saarinen's LP is really lovely. It's too bad that Finland only has one sport at European Championship, I would have liked to see her there.

Kiira Korpi, Valtter Virtanen, Karmi/Lindholm... :-D

And well done to Jenni Saarinen! But what happened to Liubov Efimenko, why did she withdraw? She had a chance at the podium if she could have skated like she did at Finlandia Trophy. No Juulia Turkkila either? Or Lindholm/Kanervo?

Efimenko was ill. I think she will be chosen for the Nordics. Turkkila and Kanervo got seriously injured last autumn and the season is over for them.

They were all exellent. Kiira was just breathtaking especially compared to the others, although they were by no means bad. Especially Jenni was amazing.

I read in the news that Valtter is engaged to (and lives with) "a top tier German figure skater" and she sometimes even coaches him. I keep wondering now who she is :laugh:

She is Alina Mayer, 8th in German Nationals this year.
