Now this is novel. We have a speed skating racing in between Figure Skating sessions! (As per the schedule)

ARRRGH!!! THE MUSIC IS BACK ON!!!

I suppose it doesn't make much difference if music is playing over speed skating. But I hope they remember to stop it before the Short Dance, which starts in just over an hour's time (16:15 CET / 15:15 GMT)

Right, I'm off to do something else for an hour.

We're back to figure skating, and I got it wrong - it's the Ladies SP now!

The judges have just been introduced, and they are now back to the sponsors' ads.

Best news of all, the music is no longer there annoying us! :cheer:

Mmmm. Unfortunately, it looks like there is going to be some overlapping between the French and Italian Championships on Saturday :disapp: , but not on Sunday. :cheer:

French Schedule
Italian Schedule

As there are so many entries, the Italian Ladies SP will overlap with the whole of the French Men's FS, and also the first half of the French Free Dance. Then there is a quick 3 minute turn-around (no resurfacing!) so that the Italian Men's SP will overlap with the second half of the French Free Dance.

But, after the Free Dance, everything in France is either Ballet (?) or Speed Skating. So, we will be free to watch the rest of the Italian Short Programmes no bother.

And on Sunday, the Italian Free Skate competitions start early in the morning (09:00 CET / 08:00 GMT), so that the everything except the Synchro FS is over before the French Gala starts.

Personally, I think I will watch the Italian Championships in full, and catch what I can of the French.

I have commented a few times that I find Synchro boring. But judging from that one video, Ice Ballet definitely looks a lot more enjoyable to watch.

I'm really surprised it hasn't taken off.

Just to let you know that Friday's competitions are due to start now with the Short Dance.

HOWEVER, it doesn't look like the livestream is working today!

And there is nothing on the FFSG's Facebook page about a different address for the streaming today.

Oh, well. Back to Budapest for the Four Nationals livestream it is then.

I may have missed most of the competition, but fortunately I came in here and found your comment just in time to see Gabriella and Guillaume! :biggrin:

WOW!!! That is some lead they have!!! They have 71.40 while Péroline OJARDIAS / Michael BRAMANTE in 2nd only have 45.24!!!

Mind you, from what I remember of that table they showed on screen, it was right and close between 2nd and 5th.

Is there any sign of a results page yet? Because this a real nuisance trying to comment without one!

And just as the Four Nationals Men's SP ends, so the French Ladies FS is due to start.

Livestream is still displaying the "Stay Tuned" message it has since the Short Dance finished, but has now started flickering. So, that could be a sign it is about to go LIVE again.

Either that or my computer doesn't like having 2 livestreams open at once... :laugh:

Never heard it before, but I absolutely LOVE it!!!! :rock:

Not a great skate by her normal standards. She had 2 falls.

...but she still takes the lead by 12 points over Nadjma Mahamoud!

Half time and Ventard is STILL leading!

Can I just say, all these French girls are using great music! I hope some of the international choreographers are watching this, getting inspiration.

I've already commented that I loved Ventard's music. I loved Marina Popov's music as well. But, her skate was an absolute disaster. THREE falls, and down in 5th out of 6.

I wonder if there is a connection. I love the music, and the skater doesn't skate well...

I agree with you about the Music, nice costumes too!. I am not familiar with the majority of the Ladies in this first group here, unfortunately
a lot of falls. Second group should be better.
