Tickets:

They can be picked up at the entrance of the ice hall. No information about the pricing yet, but it wont cost a lot.

How to reach:

The Bavarian Open are held at the same place like the Nebelhorn Trophy every year. If you come by train just go into the direction of the Nebelhorn Bahn, there are signs everywhere. Once there, just cross the bridge and you will be able to spot the ice rink.

Skate Helena is part of the European Criterium series, whose goal is:

It is the 27th edition of the European Criterium competition tournament with the goal of promoting figure skating and providing opportunity for younger generations from different countries to meet on the competitions. In the 2014/2015 competition season five different city in five different countries will host one of the competitions in the following order: Celje, Belgrade, Prague, Budapest, Canazei.

Tuktamysheva? Seriously? This may be a record trial for Guinness World Records as the most competed skater in one season?

I think Liza wants to try to do 3A at this tournament. Her performance promises to be interesting.

Few Names,

As some of the others have mentioned, Liza will again skate at Oberstdorf together with her fellow Russian Team member Maria Stavitskaya. Besides that we do have the NRW Trophy Winner Nicole Schott and Fleur Maxwell who came second, four time national Champion Sarah Hecken and the highly talented Lutricia Bock in the senior Ladies.

The Fins only send one Lady, Seidi Rantanen.

As for the Junior Ladies, there are a total of 59 announced! Including Deimante Kizalaite, last years champion Maria - Katharina Hercec and Annabelle Prölß.

The Fins send three girls, Nelma Hede, Jea Hyrylainen and last but not least Ounasvuori Oona.

In the Senior men we will find Franz Streubel who just recently won the German Nationals, Russian Andrey Lazukin and Allesandro Fadini from Italy.

Valtter Virtaanen is the only Fin there.

As for Ice Dance, we do have the National Champions from Finland Olesia Karmi and Max Lindholm plus Cecilia Torn and Jussiville Partanen, but also Alison Reed and Vasili Rogov from Israel.

No Finnish couple in the Pairs competition, but a very impressive one from Germany with Minerva - Fabienne Hase and Nolan Seegert plus the French Daria Popova with her new partner Andrei Novoselov, both teamed up just last summer after Bruno left her to skate with Aliona.

Lets hope for a big crowd, good luck to all the skaters! As always I will be there and try to cover as much as I can. Tickets can be picked up at the ice rink, a livestream is not planed as far I know.

Riazanova and Vaturri are competing, probably to get the Worlds minimum.

No Sinitsina and Katsalapov. This was their last opportunity to get the worlds minimum.

No one. Tiffany hasn't been released, I think Sosnitskaya and Safonova are still in high school, and Belyakova isn't age eligible.

Same week as 4CC. Marina can't be with S/K.

Just saw the entries. :shocked: Liza?? Hopefully it's a triple axel trial. I see her training mate Maria Stavitskaya there, and I can't help but wonder just how poor their regular training space could be...

Surely this is a world record for number of competitions in a season...?

She could easily send Scali or Epstein. All coaches with large enough groups have someone else to mind the other kids when another one requires their attention. Massimo went with the Shibutanis to Ondrej Nepala when Marina was with SK during their test skate. Viktor Adoniev was with Tutberidzes juniors during the fall. Ryabinina was with Jakushina and Nevskiy when Kustarova and Alexeeva went to CoC with IZ.

Hi folks,

unfortunately I have to cancel my journey to Oberstdorf

I have been pretty sick in the past week and while I already feel much better the virus is still there and since athletes easily pick up such things I decided to not risk it and just stay home. I don't want to be responsible for someone missing out worlds or future events, especially since I know from myself how tough a small infection can be on an athletes body. The risk is only about 20-30% based on my doctor, but its still a risk and I don't want to take it. So I want to apologize for not being able to report from the Bavarian Open this year.

Alex D - I'm sorry to hear that you have been ill, and I will miss your reporting from the event! I'm glad you are already feeling better, and hope you continue to improve in health. I know this must be terribly disappointing for you, as I know you love going to these events - but hope you will be able to come back in full force for the next one you can attend. Feel better - and treat yourself to something nice!
