    Joannie Rochette

Canadian figure skater Joannie Rochette was born on January 13, 1986, in Montreal, Quebec.

Here's to a lady who already was an Olympic medal contender long before the tragic loss of her mother thrust her into the spotlight. And, as a testament to her character, she has always conducted herself through good times and bad with the utmost grace and dignity. Also, less you think that she is just "yesterday's news", here is her just last month at the Medal Winner's Open where she won! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SaK90gkTOzk . Purely on esthetic grounds, man, just look at that toned physique!

Good Canadian sports day then. Gabrielle Daleman turns 19 today and switching to a different ice sport, Connor McDavid turns 20.

    Happy birthday Joannie

In case you missed it, Joannie talks about her medical school experience, show skating and the Vancouver Olympics on Episode 37 of Ice Talk.

Wishing her the best with her studies and new career.
