Why did you and Ziggy argue?

CaroLiza_fan already answered, but I can say that Ziggy was not a bandwagon or fan type. He never sugar coated his opinions on any pair or skater and was very headstrong about your opinions. In the end, you can tell that he sincerely cared about figure skating and really loved watching it.

This was best expressed through his famous reports. Very well-through.

Here's the one he did for 2013 Skate America Men's SP: http://www.goldenskate.com/forum/showthread.php?42150-2013-Skate-America-Men-Short-Program-Report

He was taken away from this world way too soon.

What I meant by a fan was not that he sugar-coated faults; but that he truly cared how the skaters did. He and I sometimes joined in bemoaning over the current sad state of Polish skating. Things are looking up. I think he'd be pleased.

Y/M and M/C got level 3 on their sambas while Bent/MacKeen got level 4 on both. The Parsons got level 4 on one and level 3 on the other. M/C was hit with a level 2 on their step sequence, which cost them 1.5 points in base value.

Before looking judging panel I know it was Marie Bowness. :laugh2: Don't ISU have another technical specialist?. She did JGP, GPF and JGPF and now WJC? 3 out of 4 competition of B/M judged by her. She give all level4s to Bent/Mackeen on JGP Tallinn early season. They even won short dance over Yanoskaya/Mozgov. In JGPF she again judged dance event but Bent/Mackeen was pretty bad there. (Still got amazingly high TES for what they did) I hope we will not see her in Worlds, I will never really trust a person who gives level4 to a junior team, a junior team from her country, in early season, and especially this If this team didn't get close to from another judging panel. (Sorry can't find another panel without Bowness in) :disapp:

The next Russian nationals will be a tense affair for the ice dancers

Yup and I may be alone on this but I actually really like Y/M. Sure she could bend her knees more and that would help, but I think they are great performers and they skate so darn fast! I also like their long lines, especially in juniors they have such a commanding presence on the ice.

Wow. Such detail and passion. Wish I came on this site sooner.

Yes, I guess then he was a different kind of fan. Maybe the better way to say it is he was not a blind fan of anyone but a fan of the sport and its development, especially in his home country. In any case he is missed greatly, as is Olympia--who SS pointed posted in the report I linked.

I too hope he's smiling at the improving Polish prospects. :)

I really like them too .But then again I like all the Russian dancers!
It will be interesting especially If B/S return and S/B seem to be on the rise.:)

I know this is late but why are Edwards and Pang so low, I thought their dance was very compelling, why such low TES?
