Thanks Golden. Guess we can use the Universade scores as a basis. Will add this to original post.

Sorry to be a party pooper, but I need to point out: Scores tend to rise as the season progresses. Javi's SB came from CoR; Josh's came from 4CC.

And yet Javi didn't manage to best his SB from so early in the season. Europeans is pretty similar to 4CC in 'inflation', IMO (I actually really like Javi and I want him on the worlds podium, but... this season was really 'meh' for him so far). Although of course you're right, we'll need to wait how Josh is scored when more of the top men are there. I do believe though the judges will definitely reward him with high scores if he skates well - so it's all up to him :)

Of course Javi didn't manage to best his SB from earlier in the season. He had a sucky SP at GPF and a sucky everything at Europeans. No amount of inflation is going to cover those mistakes.

Just saying, Josh will need Javi to skate worse than CoR to get on the Worlds podium. Because if Javi performs his CoR skates at Worlds, the marks will be noticeably higher now that it's late-season. I wouldn't compare Josh and Javi based on SBs, since they delivered their better skates at different points in the season (with different rates of inflation).

That's not what I wanted to get at: you said we have to look at the fact that Javi's SB was so much earlier and scores go up through the season. But the thing is, you have to actually skate well to get them. And obviously Javi didn't at his last 2 comps - otherwise he'd have a higher SB. Doesn't that say something about the possible outcomes at worlds too?

Of course Joshua needs Javier to make mistakes to beat him. Everyone who isn't Yuzuru does. But if you look at their SBs IMO the margin for mistake just isn't as big as I would have thougth before.

Also, I'm not mainly about predicting, but about looking at possibilities (because I can't see the men do something predictable). There's also Han Yan who could have a shot at the podium - he scored 90+ in an SP before and worlds is in China. I just believe the favorites are not as save as one might believe at first thought (or the prediction game for example would suggest).

Oh, I completely agree. There's a good chance CoR Javi won't show up at Worlds, and we'll get Europeans Javi instead. In that case, the door is open for Josh or Han Yan (or even Voronov, Kovtun, Mura, and whoever else can peak at the right time). I'm just now sure if scores is how I'd talk about it. I'd instead look at Javi's performances this year (all far from clean), and his trends (trending down since CoR... though he had an upswing from SC to CoR so who knows what happens at Worlds).

Well, looking on the bright side - as a Javi fan, I mean - he might just happen to have his best skates of the season at Worlds'. (And I'm listening to Two Steps - and what happened tc come up as I was typing? "For the Win" - An Omen?! ;) :) )

Well we will see three of them in a row as Mura (#2), Lee (#3) and Martinez (#4) are all skating to POTO. :p At least we get most of them out of the way early?

HAHHA that is going to be pretty hilarious... all of them in a row!

Yuzuru really has his work cut out for him, I just hope he lands that darned 4S like he did in Barcelona

and I called it at the beginning of the season, there would be enough POTOs and Carmen's to just perform the entire show on ice
