Though this would be a good place to put any news updates you may encounter for all Worlds participants.

Golden411 posted this on the What'sUpWorld Team thread(

Also, all Team USA Worlds teleconferences will be here: http://www.icenetwork.com/video/topic/112985072

Alaine Chartrand article in the Ottawa Sun: http://ottawacitizen.com/sports/local-sports/skater-alaine-chartrand-ready-to-take-on-the-world

As a newcomer to senior worlds, Chartrand has set a relatively modest goal for herself this year: Top 12 in the final standings, which should also earn her two or more starts on the international Grand Prix circuit next season. She had one in 2014-15, producing a bronze medal at the Rostelecom Cup in Moscow in November, about a month after she finished seventh at Skate Canada International in Kelowna, B.C.

Thx for the thread, Mrs. P :).

Based on their tweets, seems that Jeremy Ten and Misha Ge have done some pre-Worlds training with Frank Carroll.

When USFS announced that FC had become official Team USA mentor, he made clear that it would not affect his coaching of D. Ten and D. Murakami.
But I hadn't realized that the USFS arrangement would allow FC to continue working with non-Americans on a short-term basis as well :think:.

Pleasantly surprised that IN already published Polina's audio. In the past, the lag time sometimes has been on the order of days, not minutes.

Chock/Bates gave the second teleconference today.
Then Gold.

Wagner is next.

I think they've been training with Rafael Arutunian.

@mishageofficial
Had a good workout and check-up training in Toyota Center with Mr.Carroll, glad his good feedback, gonna work hard to keep going that way ✊

But maybe I misunderstood j3r3bear:
#Thank you to the legendary Mr. Frank Caroll for letting me train at the #ToyotaCentre on his elite ice during my first few days in #LA. So fun skating with the #GoldTwins and long time friend Dice! #California #LALife #FigureSkating

Per @LynnRutherford:

More @joshDfarris: He & coaches considered putting quad in short, but delay due busted blades & new boots ended that plan. #WCShanghai (2/3)

More @joshDfarris: Plans quad in free; feels he can "contend with the top." Hopes @J_Butt will choreograph for him next season #WCShanghai

Caveat: IFS apparently had jumped the gun a few minutes earlier, and had gotten it wrong.
@ifsmagazine
@joshDfarris: Not planning on including quads in World programs.

Opening Ceremony practice :

They prepared the original theme song ' Bing Yuan (Ice Edge) ' for this event.

Thanks! Apparently (unless I mis-heard) Shen/Zhao will be singing/performing a duet ... exciting (though I'd rather see them skate)! Also nice to see Yu/Jin and Wang/Wang included in the ceremonies. Some local club short track skaters will also be part of the performance, which should be pretty interesting as well.

Let's hope they're more Lambiel than Urmanov. :laugh:

Interesting to hear Wang/Wang say he's more afraid of heights, since he usually does the lifting and she's in the air. :biggrin:
