Personal Best Scores

The Personal Best and Season Best scores that the ISU uses for a skater only take into consideration certain competitions. For example, they do not take into consideration domestic competitions, such as Sectional, Regional or National Championships.

However, confusion arises when you come to the Major International Championships and the Senior B’s.

For the Majors, the ISU definitely takes into consideration the events they run themselves, and the Olympics. But, there does not seem to be any consistency over how they approach other events that are considered to be Majors.

And as for the Senior B’s, it is particularly confusing as an event may be taken into consideration one year, but not the next. Much of this is due to the changing make-up of the Challenger Series.

So, to make things simpler, the table below takes into consideration all the events that the skater has taken part in. These scores are referred to as “Absolute Personal Best” and “Absolute Season’s Best” so as to distinguish them from the scores recorded by the ISU.

Absolute Personal Best ScoreAbsolute Season’s Best Score

The Absolute designations are based purely on the contents of the Competitive History table in this post. If anybody knows of any scores that are not in the table, please let me know, and I will be only too happy to add them in.

As always when comparing scores, it should be kept in mind that you are not comparing like for like. There is a subjective aspect to judging, and every competition has different judges.

Thanks for starting this thread, chapis! Their Surviving Picasso free last year was really cool! I hope they continue to be successful and get more great programs!

I also think they have a bright future. I love their programs, their skating and especially their spectacular lifts.
I was lucky enough to chat to them briefly in Barcelona during the Grand Prix final - and both of them are so friendly, charming, and beautiful.

They have an offical web site >> HERE <<

I've also uploaded photos of them from both TEB where they competed, and GPF where they appeared in the gala.

Finally someone made a thread for them! I love them soooo much, their FD last season is by far my favourite dance program and their Paso Doble SD is glorious. Of course they are not the strongest technical team but they have so much passion. I think that with work they surely reach international medals, the talent they have it :cheer:.

I'm curious, why even on wiki the music for their 2012-2013 season SD isn't stated as Merry Go Around from Howl's Moving Castle by Joe Hisashi if it's clearly the one at the begining? (The description under the video also says so). I love the music and their program, but it's confusing and I couldnt't find it before, when I was searching for programs by this music. It's such a pity...
( I don't really expect anyone to answer. It's kind of rhetorical question )

Also, I've been watching orange team interviews lately and I'm impressed by Sara's ideal predictions for Sochi podium

Wiki left out the part about "original composition by Karl Hugo" but it is in their ISU bio.

What's interesting is that Jason's T&I free skate is, musically, a note for note copy of H/D's FD from 2011-2012. Hmm, perhaps Rohene is a fan...

And if he's not, he should be. :)

I checked, everywhere (inccluding their website) it's just stated that it's Jane's Waltz. I don't know that one (and youtube doesn't help much) so I can't compare, but that's defenitely wrong. Is it possible that someone made mistake and others just repaet it?

Change of topic: I really do hope they'll get a second GP. It would be great if they could compete in the GPF in Barcelona

One of the greatest dissapointments for me this season was seeing them not getting two assignments, they improved a lot last season (including a top 5 at Euros). Though the field is heavily packed. As host pick are pretty much out of the question, maybe they could go to a Challenger event and try to get in as the first substitute for any assigment? Do you think the waltz SD this season will work in their favor?
Well, we'll see them at the GPF Gala for sure

I think they are so musical, sure they can to do whatever style. I wonder why they have not announced their music.

I didn't notice they only have 1 GP spot. They had two last year, didn't they ?

Yay, Finlandia Trophy! I will see them compete there! :-D

And I will see them at the GPF gala too, which I'm doubly happy about - because Finlandia doesn't have a gala...!

Yes, they had two spots last year, so only one spot this year is a little disappointing.

If they do well at Finlandia though, maybe they can get themselves to the top of the heap to replace any withdrawals?
Thta's how Rika Hongo made it all the way to the Grand Prix Final last year... :-D

Yes, they do, but I think Coomes/Buckland and Fournier Beaudry/Sorensen who are before them on the Substitutes list deserve two entries too. I hope all three teams can get a second assignment.
