Anastasia Cannuscio & Colin McManus

Ice dancers Anastasia Cannuscio and Colin McManus represent the U.S. Cannuscio was born on July 1, 1992, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, while McManus was born on March 10, 1990, in Melrose, Massachusetts.

While not the most well-known team, Anastasia & Colin have competed on the Grand Prix for several seasons and placed 4th at this year's national championships, and I really like them! They have a really unique style and their programs are very outside-the-box, which is fairly rare in ice dance! They're also pretty young (24 and 26) by ice dance standards, so if they stick around awhile, we could be seeing them on the podium at Grand Prixs, Nationals, etc. and at the GPF. I hope this team really breaks out internationally this season!

Their Zombie FD this season was a real highlight of US Nationals for me. They are one of the few US teams who are at a senior level that has resisted the urge to move to Detroit, one readon they have a different look.

Their programs are generally choreographed by Karen Ludington.

Absolutely! I posted it twice because I thought the first one got lost as GS decided to move it. If one of the mods would move it for me, I'd be fine with it. I thought I accidentally posted it here and I had no idea about the Skate Guard thing! Oops!

PS golden411 are you a mod? You certainly seem knowledgeable enough to be one.

Not a mod.
Just have been around long enough to learn things here and there from first-hand experience/stumbles, and from paying attention to what the amazing mods say and do.
And already was around when gsk8 and the mods created the Fan Fests subforum a couple of years ago.

Doris' orphan list is a great idea that already has proved very effective :yes: in getting many new fan threads started.
At the same time, I believe that new threads for names not on the list always will be welcome as well. Anyone always has been free to start a fan thread for any skater .

Doris, Mrs. P, and others have been doing a herculean job of putting together extensive profiles of skaters.
Talk about a labor of love. Appreciate all of their work, and definitely not expecting them to give every single fan thread such treatment.

BTW, thank to Doris for already moving this thread to Fan Fests, plus de-archiving the Hawayek/Baker thread.

I loved C/M's free dance this past season. I'm very anxious to see their new programs.

I've been a huge fan of this team ever since I saw them live at Finlandia!

I really loved both of their programmes this season; the SD choreo was one of the top three of the season I thought, and I loved how the FD really told a story from beginning to end. That straight-line lift was just crazy amazing as well.

They also seem to be really nice off the ice. I had a chance to chat with them a little (and get autographs, first time I ever asked anyone for one!) at Finlandia after their SD. Their score was shockingly low, because presentation-wise their SD was well above the other teams. They were positive though and eager to come back and slay in the FD, which they did (2nd place FD, 3rd overall). Colin especially was really funny, but then I was already nervous-giggling because I was so starstruck (first time for that, too).

The audience there loved them, too; as I was leaving the rink I heard many people say how much they had enjoyed their FD! I think I overheard something along the lines of "Oh but what about the American team, weren't they just amazing?" at least four-five times

By the way, Anastasia's big sister Isabella is also an ice dancer with Michael Bramante. Colin and Isabella have been dating for years. They rent a townhouse together and both Anastasia and Michael live there with them, which I think is really cool

I really love the partial step sequence. It has some really interesting and unexpected, almost off-kilter moves. It's a really terrific way of using tradition--and you can't get more traditional than a Cinderella waltz program--and freshening it up for a contemporary audience. This should really be strong come Nationals.

A big congratulations to these two on coming in 4th at Nationals and beating Hawayek and Baker! This is a huge step for them and they should be very proud!
