Sorry for the surely-idiot question, but why did the Ladies perform a second FS? Was the first SP+FS just like a qualifying competition then?

Some of the discipline/levels had to be done in multiple groups and depending on the amount of entires in each group, the top 3 or 6 from each group after the SP+FP will compete in the FP one more time to get a final ranking. If there was only one group of a level/discipline, then that wouldn't happen.

Skate Detroit is very popular competition, with many skaters (especially female).

Junior Ladies are divided to four groups (A, B, C, D). They compete in group (SP+FS), after that Top 3 of groups (i.e. 12 skaters) compete in Final - only FS.
The same - Senior Ladies, two groups (A, B). In Final compete Top 6 of both groups (also 12 skaters), also only FS.

Similarily - Juvenile, Intermediate, Novice Ladies, competitions in groups and Final.
