Thanks for starting the thread! I think she's really promising. She has a great chance of going to worlds this upcoming season and I hope she does well leading up to it.

I was impressed by her skating in last season's JGP, I think she has great potential.
I suspect she may be Korea's #1 ladies skater by the 2018 Olympics...

Does anyone know for sure whether she will be moving up to Seniors?

Her jumping ability is great, but she really needs to work on her presentation. But her potential is great due to her consistency.

She said that she will compete as full time senior this season in her recent interview.
She may show her first senior programs at GP.

Good to see this thread, cuz I also have expectation to her. :)

Thank you for warmly welcoming Dabin to the fanfest thread! :cheer: I hope to see her new programs next season and I really hope her presence on the senior circuit pushes Soyoun and Haejin (and other Korean skaters) to improve more. I agree that she needs to work on her presentation though, which I believe she can do as a senior (crosses fingers).

I wish dabin had gotten a spot for this season's gp...hopefully she will go to worlds instead of haejin. I love haejin but sending dabin would be a better choice.

There is a high chance that she will go to WC...unless she bombs again like in Skate Korea or puberty really hindered her from skating well. The latter one is the factor I'm most afraid of, however I do think that she's faring nicely along the way. She skated well in Triglav albeit the fall her LP, but she kept her pace and finished it clean.

Haejin is a surprise-in-a-box skater though. She has the will to prove herself like she has shown in KoreaNats. The question is whether she can position herself as SY's main rival again to KSU.

I'm slightly disappointed Dabin didn't qualify for a GP, but I have faith in her senior debut! Perhaps we can see her current condition at Asian Open in Thailand? I'm just presuming since for 2 successive years she has gone to that particular comp. I hope puberty doesn't endanger Dabin's jumps...

Just imagine if Haejin pulls herself together, Soyoun stops headcasing, and Dabin survives puberty unscathed (and lives up to her potential.) Almost impossible, but it's free to dream, isn't it?

Let's dream while the season hasn't started yet. Hi! Yeah, I have seen it a few times but never posted anything because I don't really know what to say, haha.

Speaking of Haejin, when I was compiling videos for the thread OP I saw a (unsubbed) documentary about Yuna and the younger Korean skaters like Haejin, Soyoun, and Sohyun. My Korean is very basic, but I gathered that the training conditions were horrid. Oh KSU... Sometimes I wish Dabin/the rest of the younger skaters could train in other countries like CJH has this summer.

On the other hand, it's amazing how Yuna has influenced a whole country's interest in the sport. I hope Dabin (and the rest of the Korean skaters) capitalize on that and prove that SK has what it takes to medal at comps, especially with Pyeongchang fast approaching.

ETA: While searching for Dabin on Google, I came across this blog filled with pictures of her and her sister at the 2011 Asian Trophy. Some pictures include her with Misha and with bb Boyang. There're these group photos with bb Jinseo, bb Soyoun, bb Haejin, and other Korean skaters. Adorable!

So yes, Dabin will continue to compete in the upcoming JGP season. Not my preferred decision but since she is still age-eligible and she did not get a GP, I can understand. I do wish to see her in some Senior Bs because I would like for her to move up and go to Boston, which is in reach for her to get. And also to get more points, points to get 1-2 GPs in the 2016-2017 season (ala Hannah Miller).

Where she's competing
-J&T Banka
-Cup of Austria
