I think Raf is right about this season being harder, also school should be more challenging as well.

Good luck to Nathan with everything, this season!

Some things may be harder but some may be easier. For one thing there won't the stress be of moving to a new environment. Plus he's already established a set routine that seems to work for him. Some classes may be harder, but at least chemistry should be easier the second time around. I also feel he's starting off at a much higher base than he was last year at this time.

In his most recent interview with Golden Skate, Russia’s Petr Gumennik, the 2018 JGPF silver medalist, who had trained in Lakewood for a short period in 2017, mentioned that he is inspired by Nathan

When he was younger, he looked up to Evgeni Plushenko whom he trained with when he was coached by Alexei Mishin in the past. He also admires Patrick Chan for his skating skills and now is inspired by Nathan Chen.

I don’t think he needs to take another chemistry class before Beijing. The distributional requirements for sophomores are to enroll in at least one course credit in each of the three disciplinary areas: writing, quantitative reasoning, or foreign language, plus other courses for statistics major.

But scheduling might be a little harder since he probably has to take courses not offered in the morning, and courses are going to get harder as oatmella stated.

Odds and Ends:

Nathan mentioned in Japanese magazine as one of the many top athletes who are the youngest child

The young star driving American figure skating, Nathan Chen is the youngest of 5 with two older brothers and two older sisters. Due to his brothers' playing ice hockey and his sisters' figure skating he was introduced to skating at the age of 3 and had his debut competition the following year. A multi-faceted youth, he trained in ballet, gymnastics, and piano in addition to his figure skating.
