Canadian figure skater Liam Firus was born on July 2, 1992, in North Vancouver, B.C., Canada.

Congratulations to Liam Firus for landing his first quad in competition! His SP today at the Broadmoor Open included a 4T:

Liam's elegance on the ice has been very enjoyable in previous seasons.

And now he has started this season off with a bang. Woo-hoo!

Liam is a member of the Skate Canada national team for 2015-16, as he has been in the past.

I wonder if he'll get that spot at Skate Canada? I was thinking maybe they are waiting for updates on Kevin Reynolds?

Good questions. If KR is healthy, I wouldn't want to be in Skate Canada's shoes making this tough call. Would be great to see both men in the GP series.

So Liam won both of the Broadmoor Open segments that he entered:

- Senior Men SP Only (score 66.93)
- Senior Men jump comp

And he landed quads in both .

Many congratulations to Liam!

Good Luck to Liam! :) It's crazy that Canadians already have the warm up groups out. I guess we can't be that lucky with U.S. Nationals, can we?

I believe the Canadian men have two spots for Worlds and three spots for 4CCs, correct? Hopefully Liam can get at least third and go to Taipei!

Today was Liam's turn :) to be added to Skate Canada's "Meet the Senior Men" page:

Correct. Liam has his work cut out for him, but not unthinkable (IMO) for him to make the podium at Nats :yay:.

Liam Firus was in a group photo of Christy Krall's skaters from what looks like a Nationals send off (posted by Courtney Kuhn): https://www.instagram.com/p/BApciIQHXhe/.

Best of luck to Liam this week at Nationals! Has Canadian Nationals always been the same week as U.S. Nationals? I always thought that Canadian Nationals was a week or two earlier. I wonder if Christy or Damon will travel with Liam and which (or both) one will travel with their skaters to U.S. Nationals.

And there's Josh :).
(I know he's not going to compete at US Nats, but I'm happy to see him in the photo.)

And I'm happy to see Liam, Angela, etc. :) :)

IIRC re last year:

Christy went to Canadian Nats with Liam. 99% sure that she was with Liam for both his SP and FS.

Damon was with Josh for the US Men's SP.
But the Canadian Men's FS must have taken place before the US Men's FS ... b/c both Christy and Damon were with Josh for his FS.
