Wow, it's definitely time to dust off this fan fest! I came looking for it to celebrate Grant's 4th place finish at nationals and to wish him all the best for 4CC and now Worlds. While the *reason* he's going to Worlds is a shame of course, it's still a huge opportunity and I hope he knocks it out of the park! Go Grant!

Grant!! :hap93::hap85: Two spectacular performances for him! His free skate left me in tears and the whole audience was just roaring. Such an amazing for him and for all of us watching. 10th at your very first worlds, what an accomplishment! And at 25, no less!! Mega congrats and I can hardly wait to see how he does next year!!

Yes, Grant was amazing! I watched on icenetwork. Michael Weiss was doing commentary, and he got choked up. (Michael Weiss did mention later that Grant's performance did bring him to tears.) Weiss was also so moved because Grant has been a beneficiary of the Michael Weiss Foundation. It's so great to see him succeed after so many years of hard work, and using the music his girlfriend Caroline Zhang cut for him.

Here is how I become his fan. I got curious about him since the last season, because his name constantly popped up in B-level competitions. Such competitions didn't provide proper video clips on his performances, so I didn't know about his performance and assets. When he got assigned to GP series, I was just glad with the fact I could see him live in a major int' competition. And he could deliver his performance with such a grace and poise. His both outings at Cup of China and NHK were successful and Kaboom! he charmed me at Worlds again. I highly appreciate all skaters working really really hard. I hope to keep seeing him in major competitions.

I just re-watched Grant's FS and it was amazing! I remembered it was good but it was better than good! Full standing O and I love his entrance into the spin at around 2 minutes in. Very emotional skate and those get me every time!

Count me as a newfound appreciator of Grant Hochstein. I had resisted his LP because another Les Miz? I couldn't, I just couldn't...

But that LP at Worlds; wow! He stepped up to the plate and delivered, and you could feel the determination in each stroke. And that huge grin in the KnC; I grin just looking at it.

And of course I do love me some "older" skaters, rather than teenage phenoms; even if he's young enough to be my son, if not grandson......

Just saw on Grant's twitter that he and Caroline are engaged. Best wishes to them both. They are an adorable couple.

I'm so glad you posted here too; Grant has such a great sense of humor and plays off of Jason so well I am becoming more of a fan.

Grant, with a perfectly straight face, talking about teaching skating classes: "you know those "stretchy things" Jason does. I taught him that"

Grant and Jason together! Ya gotta love it! Grant has definitely become one of my faves since Worlds. I've watched his Worlds FS over and over and am still so proud of him! He's a class act. Can't wait to see these 2 at Lombardia!

Congratulations to Grant! And the cow "encounter" looked like fun too.

Glad Grant was able to medal internationally for the first time! I was impressed that he landed a 4T/3T in the short program with positive GOE, which earned him nearly 15 points. He was the only man in the competition to land a quad successfully in the short!

I liked his programs better last year, but it's still early in the season, hope he can win me over at Skate Canada.
