Since we are on this topic.
Does anyone know if Viola and Kaius (junior ice dance team) are siblings? I have seen some short mentions about them and since I have never seen mentioned that they are siblings tells me that they probably are not but I don't know that for sure. Anyway, if they are not siblings then it is just a coincidence that they have the same last name.

Yes, they are siblings.

Törn/Partanen just broke another record with their 58+ SD. Karmi/Lindholm are behind by about 8 points.

Anni Järvenpää(15 years old) 52.11 Hmm not even that bad... Now Juulia Turkkila and final group afterwards.

e: Viveca Lindfors 58.27... Her PB is(was?) only 51.14

I've just seen the SPs of top 2 ladies, Viveca landed everything and she is technically really good. But Anni has much better presentation. I wish she didn't struggle with 3t+3t and the competition would be much closer in the FS. I can see a bright future for Finnish ladies skating with these girls.

Thanks for the video links Totentanz!

That youtube poster seems to have all the "main" dance, men and ladies skaters from Finnish nationals. Hopefully they will post the free skates too.

Jenni, Anni & Juulia were all fabulous. Viveca just wasn't on :(

But I'm so happy for Anni!

WHO will be sent to Europeans?

According to the rules the one who's season's best is the best and that one is still Viveca Lindfors, 157,06 Tallinn Trophy in November 2015. But we'll see soon who will go.

I would like to see Viveca there as she usually has nerves, not today. Anni would not be a good choice in my opinion as she is too nervous in international competitions and she needs more experience before going to Euros in my opinion.

Wow, congrats Anni! :hap93: A little sad, that Viveca did not deliver this time.

Here's hoping this will really light a fire in her and she'll do at Euros what she wanted to do here! :)

Loved Tomi Pulkkinen, I think he has the potential to become great :)

Was a bit sad as all 3 others before Vivica had pretty good and relatively clean skates but then I saw her fall at least twice and I believe a pop... I didn't manage to watch it to the end though, had to go early. Still sad to see... She just needed to skate moderately decently to win.

I actually think all of the top 6 or 7 ladies here are quite good in their own ways and have a lot of potential. I hope Viveca will go to Euros because I think she is still the best choice all things considered, but I'm thrilled for Anni- what an accomplishment for her!

It is now offical. Viveca Lindfors, Valtter Virtanen and Törn/Partanen will represent Finland in Euros.

How disappointing for Emmi Peltonen to miss Nationals because of injury. No matter what happens with the jumps, I admire the beauty of her skating.

Question for those familiar with Finnish Figure Skating--does missing Nationals mean Emmi Peltonen won't have a chance for a JGP spot next season?

I can't recall how Anni Jarvenpaa did at last year's Nationals, but she did have two JGP spots this year. Not questioning that Anni earned them, she did and she skated well on the JGP; I'm just looking for alternate ways Emmi may yet earn a JGP spot next year.

Thanks in advance for any information.

Anni came 2nd in Jr Nats last year. I don't know the answers to your other questions, unfortunately :)
