I'm very interested in seeing the Shibs' FD.

I've not been their biggest fan, but I enjoyed this more than anyone else here, or at Skate America for that matter.

Is 66 a personal best for them? I hope so, because I've never liked them more than this.

This SD works well for W/P because the ISU wants classic waltzes. That's why they have a partial step sequence and not a non-touching step sequence.

It's always interesting to read the score sheets. I think the judges and tech specialists did a pretty fair and consistent job in dance. No crazy high PCS for anyone, and the things that were done well were rewarded. In comparing W/P and Shibs, W/P scored marginally better on the tech side on the patterns, the lift and the step, but Shibs very rightfully scored higher on the twizzles - higher level and quality mark - by 1.5 points. W/P scored higher on PCS, which I think was fair. The Shibs are very clean and have a good sweep, but W/P had deeper edges, bigger pattern that was almost too big for the ice, and were squarely in the pocket for Strauss. Of course W/P should do Strauss. It couldn't be more perfectly suited to them and the waltz theme. I LOVE the Shibs, but W/P brought a different level of maturity and depth. And there is still so much they can add and grow over the course of the season. This program is only 2 weeks old, but it fit them like a glove.

Welcome back, Ekaterina and Dmitry. :cheer: What a nice skate, I don't get why their SS were marked 1 point lower than Weaver/Poje, this is the most glaring thing in protocols if you ask me. And also the GOE bonus for some of their elements.
But this Weaver/Poje dance is one million times better than that 'Elvis' mess they skated before. Thank God someone showed them the light.
