First bit of good news: for most versions of Eurosport EVERYTHING from the Cup of China will be shown LIVE on the TV channels. :cheer:

Second bit of good news (for me making out this post): After having them all different last week, Eurosport Italia and Eurosport Nederland are the same this week!

Eurosport Hungary, though is a different matter. They are not showing as many of the overnight highlights as the other versions, due to football coverage (a LIVE match on Friday night; highlights on Saturday and Sunday mornings). Also, the repeat of the Gala that is on the other versions on Sunday afternoon is cut down by an hour in Hungary, again because of a LIVE football match. Finally the highlights being shown on the morning of Friday 13[SUP]th[/SUP] are being shown an hour later than on the other versions, again because of football highlights.

On Eurosport Deutschland, the only difference to ESP Italia and ESP Nederland is that there is no Monday morning repeat of the Gala, as they are showing highlights of the final round of the MotoGP.

On Eurosport France, there are less highlights programmes being shown. There are no Friday night highlights of the Short Programmes due to LIVE cycling and LIVE rugby. And there is no Sunday afternoon repeat of the Gala due to LIVE Rugby.

Curiously, if you look at the schedule for Friday 13[SUP]th[/SUP] Eurosport France are NOT showing the TEB Men’s SP LIVE!!! Even though it is in their country!!! Again, this is due to LIVE Rugby! :bang:

As usual, there are major differences on British Eurosport. For a start, due to cricket (!), the Ladies and Men’s SP highlights on Friday night are on earlier than on the other versions, while the Pairs SP highlights are NOT being shown.

Saturday is where the biggest differences are. Only the Free Dance is being shown LIVE on British Eurosport. For the other categories, you have to make do with the highlights on Sunday night which, again, are on earlier than on the other versions. And the reason for all this? CRICKET!!!

But, don’t worry. You’ll still be able to watch the other categories LIVE on the British Eurosport Player. Although, I don’t know if it will have the commentary or not…

There are also a lot fewer showings of the Gala on British Eurosport. Don’t worry, it is being shown LIVE on Sunday morning, as is the repeat on Monday morning. But, the Sunday afternoon repeat is replaced by LIVE Show Jumping, and the overnight repeat is replaced by Eurosport News.

Finally, the highlights of the whole event which are being on the other versions on the morning of Friday 13[SUP]th[/SUP] will instead be shown on British Eurosport in the middle of the day on Thursday12[SUP]th[/SUP].

All I can say is “Thank goodness for Eurosport Player!”

Yes, lots of live goodness! :-D

The (British) Eurosport Player has proved to be a very worthy investment so far, filling the gaps in British Eurosport broadcast coverage (albeit with no commentary). For me it's very stable and reliable, it's better quality than Ice Network, and no shady messing with VPN's to circumvent geoblocking.

Also, when Eurosport broadcast goes to commercials, I am able to switch over to Eurosport Player on The Big TV... so I can eg. watch the 6 minute warmups instead of commercials :-D Switch back to the broadcast afterwards, to get full HD and the commentary... :-D

So it looks like German Eurosport 2 is going to cover the whole thing live. Downside: it also looks like the German Eurosport player will therefore not offer the ISU live stream at the same time :rolleye: that kind of sucks. I would much rather watch the audience or the warm-up group instead of annoying commercials. And for some events I actually appreciate it when I can watch a stream that has no commentary. At least with the player I can switch the commentary from the German one to that of British Eurosport. But since British Eurosport won't cover the whole event live, I wonder what will happen to the commentary :hopelessness: I hope they will either continue or that I just get no commentary at all when I opt for "English". Most of the time I can't stand the German commentary :shock2:

British Eurosport Player still showed the whole of Skate Canada, live, on a dedicated ISU channel... even when they were simultaneously showing the same live coverage on the British Eurosport 2 channel (both in the Player, and on Broadcast TV). Does that not happen in Germany too?

The dedicated ISU channel in the Player had no commercial breaks, and no commentary. So I switched to that during ad breaks eg. to see the 6min warmups... and switched back to TV after the ads, for commentary and full HD...

The only hiccup is the dedicated ISU channel in the player... lags a few seconds behind the TV broadcast...

It did during Skate Canada, yes. But last week the ISU channel also showed up in the TV program preview thingy. For this week, there is no ISU channel in the TV program preview thingy. Hence my assumption. Although it might just magically appear on Friday :hopelessness: but for some reason I'm not holding my breath.

It would seem weird for them, to show the NA GPs, but not the Asian ones in the player.

But if it is only a "German" issue, then you can just enter from a different location and watch there. I do this a lot when my friend plays in France, in Germany her games are not shown, but in France they are.

Ah, I see.

Just checked my (British) Eurosport Player... and yes, it seems there is no ISU channel during live coverage on British Eurosport 2. The ISU channel is only scheduled for Saturday, after coverage ends on British Eurosport2.

If this is how it's really going to be, I am also VERY DISAPPOINTED. Because I can't rely on British Eurosport's broadcast coverage. It routinely gets trampled by every other sport that's live... or by "top ten funniest cloud formations above a chess match"... or programming simply disappears for no reason at all (other than someone at Eurosport seems to have a grudge against FS) :p

Here's hoping the ISU channel will be there for everything... I had assumed that was "normal" after SA and SC...

But for that I would need one of them vpn thingies, right? I don't use those. And seeing YesWay's post, it doesn't seem to be an exclusively "German" issue, so that "trick" wouldn't work anyway  but thanks all the same.

So had I. I am not a happy camper right now :sad21: going back to sad panda mode.

Yes, a VPN would be required to log on ;)

Rightly so! Where to watch figure skating? I've subscribed last year to ice network (quite always geoblocked) and also eurosportplayer. EUROSPORTPLAYER is REALLY the best investment you can make right now if you're a skating fan: saw Skate America (not live), saw Skate Canada (great live action in different languages, but the best is brit::rock:) and discovered this ISU channel without comments and always on live. And I'm looking forward to watch all the other GP events thanks to Eurosportplayer. Except for TEB: going to be there!!!

This time there will be sportbox.ru stream. They also store complete events, at least they did it last year.

Unfortunately, only SP for ladies, men, and pairs. They will have better coverage in France, though

Ladies http://news.sportbox.ru/Vidy_sporta...ran_pri_Kitaja_Zhenshhiny_Korotkaja_programma
Pairs http://news.sportbox.ru/Vidy_sporta...7818_Gran_pri_Kitaja_Pary_Korotkaja_programma
Men http://news.sportbox.ru/Vidy_sporta...Gran_pri_Kitaja_Muzhchiny_Korotkaja_programma

Thanks a lot for the links.

If anyone cares, an FYI that Weir/Lipinski seemingly are not involved in NBC's Cup of China broadcast. Only Gannon and Wilson. Noon ET on Sunday (as always: schedule subject to change; check your local listings).

IIRC, pretty sure that the same thing happened last year with NBC's Cup of China coverage.

Thanks a lot for the link, but it appears that the feed will be for the women's LP not the SP according to the information at the site.

samkrut's post has the link for the Ladies SP. Короткая программа = SP.
KIG's post has the link to the Ladies FS. Произвольная программа = LP.

gotoschool, don't know what you were seeing earlier at those links, but when I clicked on them a moment ago, they were correct.
