There will be one day between the SP and the LP for the Men. More suspense.

The GPF last year was a trial run for Javi to skate in front of the home crowd so this year is the follow-up for an experienced Javi, closing out the competition on Saturday. Mens is definitely meant to be the star event here. It is definitely very exciting with the mix of power veterans and the brash young phenoms.

So I just found out I won't be able to watch the men's SP livestream, so good luck everyone!

(BTW how come Spain can host GPF two years in a row?)

BTW how come Spain can host GPF two years in a row?

It is because of something called Politics and/with Money,
and probably it got something to do with the fact that Javi is one of the top skaters too.
Someone in Spain and someone at ISU make money if it takes place in Spain,
and those people got some power at ISU or got a strong connection with someone with power at ISU.
Just as same as how and why the locations for the Worlds or Olympic games are chosen,
we really do not know the truth because they will not tell.
However, I think it is safe to say that it will not go there if nobody will make money out of it.

Of course, always the legit reason is that
the host country likes to promote that particular sports in their country and/or in that particular region.
In this case, the skating federation of Spain likes to promote the sports there when they got the world champion.
But still it does not happen if M is not there.
It makes the world go around!

They are hosting two years in a row, which means they are very good at politics and/with money.

Oh wow that's... well... I have no words. Does "very good ... with money" mean they make a lot of profit and give some to ISU or something?

Promoting the sport somewhere not as common makes sense; same location twice in a row seems to be robbing that chance from some other country, imho.

Thanks very much for the explanation!

boyang's tech elements are difficult than hanyu..why hanyu gets higher marks than boyang?

GOE judges quality. BV is based on difficulty. From what we've seen so far...Hanyu's jumps have been of higher quality so he gets higher GOE.

And it's not just the jumps. Spins and steps are part of the tech scores too. In those elements, Yuzu also ahead of Boyang, in terms of +GOEs.

I want clean shorts from everyone so we can truly know who is the best this year!

(I'm assuming it'd be something like: 1. Hanyu 2. Fernandez then 3/4. Chan/Boyang and 5/6. Shoma/Mura.)
