I have a quick question for you. Isn't Gracie's Flip worth more than Evgenia's Loop? Am I wrong?

Yes, you're right 5,83 (3F) vs 5,61 (3Lo). But Medvedeva puts the 3F+3T combo in the 2nd half of the program so she balances that out (spins and Stsq are planned level 4 for both of them so no difference there in term of bv). :)
Maybe I should have specified that the asterisk in my previous post means "2nd hal of the program"

I won't be able to see the LP due to work (working on weekend suck), but atleast I'll get to see the SP live (if the links don't freeze on me).

Ohhhhhhh! I Totally get it now. She gets a bonus for doing it in the second half of her program. Well, good for her...

I don't think that list really reflects much for a few reason(the biggest being a little inflation in the latter 3 events compared to the 1st 3 events... I don't mind it as I don't take raw scores all that seriously). I'm fascinated by the distributions of the predictions but am not going to participate in the predictions thread.

My personal power rankings(a mixture of scoring potential and probability) are:
Asada, Medvedeva
Gold(Higher or lower depending on how they call her flip.)
Radionova
Sotoko, Wagner

I think it's most likely the medalists will come from Asada, Medvedeva, Gold, and Radionova... but Sotoko as been the little engine that could a few times and Wagner has won a medal at the GPF 3 times in a row. I doubt Sotoko will be last.
-----------

I wish Gold would do the 3Lo instead of the 3F as I don't think she has done a single 3F from an inside edge(or masquerades well as being on an inside edge) the entire season starting with her summer competitions. She popped the jump at the Japan Open and in her Skate America SP... both edges were clearly outside and the Eurosport guy mentions it on replay. Her 3F at Skate America is her best 3F of the season and it's still flat. Her 3F at TEB should have been an easy edge call.

Her 3F would not be a big deal except that instead of trying to minimize the impact of her 3F issues(and how the tech panel will call it) they inflate it by doing the 3F twice and once in combination. TBH, when I compare Gold's problem edge jump the rest of the field's(Mao's 3Lz, Wagner's 3Lz, Medvedeva's 3Lz, Sotoko's 3F, Radionova 3F) her's is the most obvious to me. Radionova does a 3Lo in her SP because she has issues with her flip edge and Radionova's flip edge issues were never as sever as Gracie's.

Interesting that the 6 ladies in the GP final can really be divided broadly between the flutzers (Mild to moderate Wagner, moderate Medvedeva and Mao) and lippers (Mild Radio / Satoko, obvious Gold).

If everyone is clean(I really hope it is) this is gonna be the standings tomorrow.
1. Gracie Gold
2. Evgenia Medvedeva
3. Elena Radionova
4. Satoko Miyahara
5. Mao Asada
6. Ashley Wagner

I want to put Satoko to 2nd but the judges always underscored her. And I can tell on her face she's not happy about it. I don't think she ever reached 70 on sp.

A clean Mao Asada would be in 5th place? :scratch2: How do you figure?

A clean SP with a 3A, 3F-3L, 3Lz, jump layout and top notch spins/stp-seq/footwork is only worth a #5 spot? What The Frak?! :confused2:

Sorry for the confusion. I should've write if everyone is clean except for Mao Asada. Im pretty much sure two of her jumping passes will be flutz and underrotated. She's been inconsistent before and she's still inconsistent now. I'm just basing my rank this season and she never did a clean program.

At COC, with a 3A(no +GOE due to wonky landing), 3F-3L<, 3Lz(e), Mao's SP (71+) still outscored all of her GPF compatriot besides Gracie's 73+ SP. And I won't count her NHK performance, as Mao was very sick during that competition.

That said, I would prefer Mao change her SP layout to 3A, 3F-2L, 3L. And if she goes clean, she will be on top of the leader board. Then, depending on how clean-ish she performs her FS, that will be the deciding factor on her landing on the podium.
