"A little mistake in the free....OK...a big mistake":laugh2:
he got real
In the bad google translation the word he uses most often is "work". As in, they need to put in even more work to make sure it doesn't happen again. I do think (judging by his behaviour, interviews, social media...or should I say total abandonment of social media?) that it seems he's matured a lot in the last year and a half. It appears he's got his head on straight about himself, their career as a dance couple, the relationship with their coaching team, what they need to do to achieve their goals. It's all very focused and disciplined.

Nikita's attitude in the KandC is a good example of how much he has changed. In the past it would have been hissy but here it was self-depreciating.
Based on those scores, the judges were really happy to give them the gold if it wasn't for that mistake. I still think they are going to be the ones on the Euros podium next month, not B/S.

I wonder what's in store for I/Z now? As well as Y/M. Kustarova flopped here badly.

I/Z need to start from basics and see why they make this strange mistakes
maybe a technical coach, I dont think Kustarova is the right coach for that

they can try relocating to Michigan and train with Igor

This could be the best but who will pay the training? I mean, all the girls are in Russia, when Yulia wanted leave Eteri she went with Urmanov, why not the americans or japanese coaches?

As I said before, I doubt Russian Fed cares enough for Dance these days to invest that much in a "questionable team", pardon me I/Z fans. Sin/Kats might have already consumed the entire Dance budget, so if they do decide to relocate it's going to be from their own pockets for the most part.

I was not aware of that.

Still, Elena's Olympic winnings might not be enough in this case. And she might have already spent most of it in the expensive salons and boutiques based on my observation of her instagram account.

Hahah why do you waste your time observing "questionable team" instagram account. Plus if you have observed correctly you may also have noticed that IZ also spent money on their choreography and working with different specialists. Or you was focused on other things.

I observe all teams, from my warm couch:) I am not Alla Shekhovtseva and I have no stakes. :) But thanks for your observation.

I wont be so hard on Elena
Like Radio has photoshoots & all but she's fighting in all her programms.
You can combine social life, commercials with the sport successfully. My problem with I/Z that I dont see progress. Maybe we demand too much b/c of last season?

They do seem to require discipline & have their priorities straight.
Sometimes I start to think if its that good to have such massive fan support. It creates an illusion that you're perfect b/c so many fans adore you & praise your every move.

S/K didnt have this. They were the evil team that left poor I/Z then they failed in their 1st season & they had to climb back up.
Obviously being in the US & away from all the hoopla helps to be focused & Im happy they moved.

While I think that I/Z have much better skating skills, talent and potential than S/B I won't be too sad to see them off the Euro team.
I'm hoping that this would be a wake up call, like the one S/K had last year and give them time to work on their skating & programs for next season.

About the coaching change, where could they go in Russia? They can't really go to Zhulin or Morozov...

I want to thank you for providing a link to that movie..As an American skating fan watching coverage of Russian nationals online, I could see the potential in Safronova/Zimin, but I was struggling to understand the story behind their FD (since I don't understand Russian) ...but though they definitely aren't the strongest skaters as far as certain elements and their basics right now, I felt somehow really connected to the story...I hope they are able to refine their skating a bit more and grow as artists...their lifts proved they can handle difficult and are inventive...the description of the movie makes me wish I could see it!
