I...am not sure what this music is but it was not what I was expecting with this costume

running threes into CCSp - this is going to be ugly for the tech panel because he collapsed out of the camel on the first foot

CCoSp - nice flying change of foot
FCCoSp - really nice positions
StSq - hehe he just found and looked straight down the camera
3S - leaning out but saved on landing
2A - awkward stoppy landing
ChSq - nice arabesque spiral followed by hydroblade and scotties to finish

So the music was really weird, it started out with this yelly lyrics and really intense kind of rock-style beat, and then suddenly Your Song. Level of what the...? is VERY high. He looks disappointed in the kiss and cry, poor thing. Wow, skaters watch their own skating really intensely. Is this what I look like when I'm watching my favourites?

He looks really pink. And really annoyed with himself. HUGE height and distance on the 3A attempts, enjoyed those enormously. Very elegant and moves very deliberately but looks down a lot. Come on replay guy, you know what we want to see! Don't make the poor bloke relive all his mistakes, show us the bloody opening 3A! Coach is talking to him in a very soothing tone. He's not buying it, even if I don't know what she's saying. Whoa suddenly really loud music! TOO LOUD! Keeps flicking to the scoreboard, which is not very useful because we've only had one score.

Love his drama hands. Lots of detail in the fingers. Had quite a few jump problems and is clearly disappointed. They showed replay of his 2A and his position is really open. I am curious and would like to see slo mos. Now he's waving to the camera and speaking into it, it's Finnish so I have no idea what he's saying. I did not realise he was wearing flesh coloured gloves. He seems to be less disappointed now, he's not watching the replays too closely.

Big smile at the end and so he bloody well should, wowza, that was pretty great, he ran out of fuel the last bit, but that's all right, he looks pretty young, so it will come. He signals something to the camera, I'm not sure what, twizzles his finger around then ducks his face into his elbow. Clearly an in joke with somebody. Why is the producer allergic to showing 3A replays tonight? SHOW MEEEEEE. He just had a giggle at something. Coach looks very pleased. Loooooooong wait for scores.

Good job! Loving the high standard here. He looks quite disappointed, I suppose he is thinking about the pops. Adjusts the hair en route to the kiss and cry. This is an awkwardly quiet kiss and cry and neither he nor his coach are looking at the replays which makes it more awkward. Whoops, I just realised I totally missed a jump pass in there somewhere. Now awkward for me. It was a 3S-turn out-2T but I'm not sure where. Hey look, there ARE some people in the crowd! Matthias obviously explaining something to his coach about his shoulders being in the wrong position.

Oh dear, I don't think the red scarf was making things any easier for him. Need to see that first jump again, I wasn't sure what it was but it was big. Kiss and cry camera is excellent for seeing the super sparkly details on the purple vest. Whichever cameraman is obsessed with the tight shot on the feet needs to be taken out the back and shot. Poor kid looks rather dead in the kiss and cry. His coach is smiling, she's quite young too. I can't hear his comments (and they're probably in Finnish so it wouldn't do me any good!).

I hope he's not still suffering the effects of the bone marrow donation. He looks pretty tired. Also his skate guards are purple and lime green.

What he achieved was important World Ranking Points leading into the World Championships. Which given his draw for the short I think everyone would agree, great skate or not at Nordics it was well worth it.
