2016 Cup of Tyrol (9-13 Mar)

A very impressive skate by B/D to win the Pairs competition. They have really finished the season strongly. A good performance in Russian Nationals, Russian Cup final, and clear winners here over J/C who placed 4th in Europeans. Looking forward to next season. J/C didn't have the best of skates and it led to awkward kiss and cry with a very angry Morgan giving out, Vanessa arguing back and ending in her storming off.

I enjoyed both of Yulia's skates. Technically work has to be done but she has the off season for that. She looks more committed now that a few months back, I would like to see things work out for her.

Vanessa and Morgan have had a difficult off-ice relationship for a while. IIRC it was at 2014 TEB when it became apparent to French fans and there were even rumors of a split. But they showed up this year motivated and with a very ambitious technical content (3T3T and Throw 4S).

I think what's more frustating for them is that they still often make some small mistakes in the death spiral or spins that invalidate the whole element. Both of them started doing Pairs later in their careers and have come a long way since then but they still make "silly" mistakes.

I'm also not sure who thought it was a good idea to make them skate to Romeo and Juliet when they barely acknowledge each other before, during and after the program.
