They just said on the Australian coverage that the rowing has been abandoned for the day. This is ridiculous. How many days have they now abandoned the rowing!?

Nope, I don't follow fencing really, but I can imgaine how traumatizing it is when you're one point from win with 5 points leading and then lose a match.... I will try to watch canoe! Depends of TV coverege though.

Yeah, espiecially since I heard commentators say that Rowers need two hours to get to the place... Really tough for competitiors.

The women's time trial looks very wet. The commentators are saying that they will be doing the same descent as in the road race?!

Hungary and Italy still doing exceptionally well! But Australia has passed them, I guess it's a matter of time till Russia will do it too. And we have a Gold medal for Independent Olympic Athlete (from Kuwait)! Hope today the weather will allow Rowers to compete! :cheer:

canada is doing well.... except no gold... for a small country in summer games, having a medal every day so far is quite good... especially in the pool which wasn't planned... go penny !

I was gonna laugh, when read "small country", but then read "in summer games". Well, you're not that small as you may think ( I'm waiting for CL_fan to post the other table, Canada is much higher in that one!), and I'm sure Canada will snatch some more medals, you have some good competitiors in Athletics

athletics is just as weird as in the pool

we have 3-4 shots for medals... maybe 5-6 if we are lucky... that would be special...

i am crossing fingers in tennis... we have 75% of medal in men's double and I really want that one

in london, canada had about 12 or 13 medals if i recall... one only was gold... (trampoline)

so far, like almost always, Canada's medals all come from women

we used to be good in rowing.. but i don't know why... that's all gone... judo is not working at all... gymastics was a total fail this time... ugh... even diving is not working out so well ... but still enjoying watching !

winter games are different... i was in vancouver for 2010... and it was amazing to be the WINNING COUNTRY!!!

woot ! but you probably know this, canada in 1976 Montreal summer games and 1988 calgary winter games, both times, didn't win gold, making it the first ever host country not to win gold at home.... so for 2010, a bunch of agencies got together to inject money in supporting athletes' training. It worked out... WE WON

wow.. talk about ONE and only ONE great olympic moment for a small country

Soul 11 gold, Barcelona 11 gold, Atlanta 7 gold, Sidney 8, Athen, 8, Beijing 3! the worst result, London 8

We have chance to win golds in cayak-canoe but won't have chance in T&F and in the other sports. Probably we will win 7-8-9 golds and some silver and bronz again.

I did not know it.... :eeking: The only thing I know about Montreal is that Poland won Gold in Volleyball. Whe had Golden Era then, since in 1974 we also won World Championships. Now everyone expects the history will repeat itself! :drama:

Your Men Doubles has great chances, that's true! It's nice that Canada at least invest money in sports your compatriots excel.

OMG, Poland had 2 Gold in London, and I'm not complaining :drama:

I think you will get that 8 Gold medals at least. It's still not even the end of first week. Be patient! I believe at least in Katinka, just like 4everchan

And Gold isn't the only medal that counts, silvers and bronzes are great too!

You know, it's funny. A few days ago, people were going on about how badly Great Britain is doing in these Games compared to 2012. But the BBC was saying Great Britain was actually doing beter than they were at that stage of the Games in 2012.

The obvious question (to me, anyway) is: are the competitions being held in the same order as in 2012? Because that can have a major affect on things.

It would be interesting to know whose perception is right.
