Nice that we are going to see the Crafoord siblings in Malmö. They live in Los Angeles and recently qualified for US nationals, Novice Pairs, so just a show skate at Swedish Nationals.

I wonder what happened to Ilya Solomin. He represented Sweden at Europeans 2014. He is not in the Swedish team anymore and I haven’t seen him compete since Nordics 2016. Country hopping?

The Craford twins is as you may know swedish to begin with and livedand skated in Mölndal before they moved to the us.

As for Ilya there has been som disscussions in sweden as to what has happened. He has had problems in his club and has recently changed coach and club. His team says hes been kicked out of the swedish national team and the swedish figureskating association says he has quit.
He is originaly from ukrian I think so if he doesnt reconcile with the swedish association it is verry possible he may compete for the in the future

Selma Ihr, 12 years old, was the highlight for me here: gold,133.64 points with a clean 3toe-3toe in her free skate.

Matilda Algotsson also impressing. Really good skating with flow. So nice to watch her.

Joshi must get it together to not be passed by Matilda, Anita Östlund or a junior, like Cassandra Johansson. Young girls can improve fast when they suddenly get their new bodies to work. Thinking of Anita with her long limbs. When she gets her 3lutz-3toe consistent together with other jumps she’ll be dangerous.

Worried about Isabelle WD after short.

Kudos to Ondrej and Marcus in senior men. Better and better, closer and closer to nail the 3-axel. It’s a miracle that Ondrej can skate on this level after surgery on both knees. Majorov’s quad toe was superb. I’m impressed he’s already in good form after bone marrow donation, injury, training without his coach and studying for his final exams.

Also shout out to cool Gabriel Folkesson. Actually big congratulations to all boys competing! 17 males at Swedish nationals, a record? Sad for Nikolaj Majorov who couldn’t compete due to back problems.

As for Ilya there has been som disscussions in sweden as to what has happened. He has had problems in his club and has recently changed coach and club. His team says hes been kicked out of the swedish national team and the swedish figureskating association says he has quit.

Sounds weird and sad. I hope he and the Swedish federation can make up. Sweden lost Justus to Denmark, Michael Neumann to Slovakia, Nickey Obreykov to Bulgaria and Illya Solomin… ? I know the chance to compete at Europeans might be better representing another country… but still…. please Swedish federation: take care of the few boys who chose figure skating rather than ice hockey.
