Not many seniors left on the list. Emmi should have been there but is no more on the list. Reason to withdraw is not told.

You mean Emmi Peltonen? Well, probably they decided to take a rest after Euro. And will be full prepared for Worlds in Helsinki. :)

Yes, and probably Emmi is going to Juniors too. She said in the interview that she wants to go and she has best junior scores in Finland as well as in seniors so far.

Im starting to get worried about Brooklee. She did not pull off any of her triples cleanly in either programs.

She probably just had a bad day. She was great at Nationals.

Alerted on FSUniverse by a poster there that apparently former US representing/now Philippines representing skater Yamato Rowe apparently WON the junior men's event, was even photographed on the medal stand WITH the other medalists, but then was DISQUALIFIED from the event, and the results changed (reflected here: www.iceskate.is/wp-content/uploads/mot/2017/rig2017isu/CAT002RS.HTM, but NOT reflected or explained in the protocols for the event) -- anyone have any idea what could have happened?

Just in case you hadn't seen, the updates on FSU indicate that it's most likely an issue with lacking a proper release, since Rowe had competed in a single international comp (Philadelphia Summer International, in 2015) for the USA.

For goodness sake. That is desperate.

The ISU really need to do something about the process of switching countries.

At the 56[SUP]th[/SUP] ISU Congress last year, the switching countries issue was looked at. And the embargo period was changed to 12 months for all Internationals (it had been 18 months for ISU competitions, and 12 months for other Internationals). See this post.

I just took to the time calculator, and the time between the Philadelphia competition and the Reykjavik competition is 1 year, 6 months, 29 days. And that is well over the 12 month embargo that Rowe would have been under.

So, somebody somewhere (it could be anybody) has made a mistake elsewhere in the process.

It's just not right the way that red tape is getting in the way of skaters being able to compete. :disapp:

On the plus side, though, it meant my local skater Sam McAllister was promoted to a silver medal! :cheer:

(Not going to celebrate too much, though, as I still don't think this situation is fair).

Based on the discussion here, it's not likely the 12 month embargo, but more an issue with citizenship/getting proper clearance, as per Rule 109. The FSU thread discussion is more clear than I can really be.
